1 Cathedral of St. John the Baptist 5 June 2016 Bishop s Concert 21 June :00 pm 12-Day Pilgrimage to Rome, Italy 7-18 March 2017 Msgr. Brovey will be leading a pilgrimage to Rome on 7-18 March 2017 visiting Assisi, Florence, Orvieto and 5 days in Rome. The pilgrimage begins in the peaceful hillside town of St. Francis and St. Clare before continuing on to the Renaissance city of Florence. On the way to Rome we will stop in the town of Orvieto where the tradition of the Corpus Christi Eucharistic Processions began. In Rome we will be staying in the beautiful Hotel Columbus located right in front of St. Peter s Square. While in the Eternal City we will visit some of the most significant churches in Church history: St. Peter s Basilica, St. John Lateran, the Holy Stairs, St. Clemente, St. Maria in Trastevere, St. Cecilia, the Gesu, the catacombs to name just a few. We will also attend a Papal Audience with Pope Francis and Scavi Tour (a tour beneath St. Peter s to the very tomb of the Prince of the Apostles). Also, included are a walking tour to the vibrant Piazza Navona, Campo dei Fiori, Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps and much more. The brilliant sonorities of the brass and warmth of the French Romanticinspired Bedient pipe organ will reverberate in the glorious acoustic and stunning architecture of Charleston s largest Gothic church. A limited number of tickets are also available for a reception following the Concert at the Bishop s Residence. Tickets are $15 each and may be purchased on the CSO website or Box Office. We welcome all visitors to the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. Docents are available for a tour of our Cathedral following the 5:30 pm Saturday Vigil Mass and the 9:00 & 11:15 am Masses. You may make at donation by text at (843) Fathers Day Envelopes: Please fill out your Fathers Day Envelopes and return them to the Parish Office via collection basket or drop off by Friday, 10 June. The envelopes will be placed on the altar and your intentions for your loved ones will be offered. Fathers Day is Sunday, 19 June.

2 Please Pray The rain put a damper on our block party, but we still were able to have a beautiful Mass, indoor procession and Benediction for this glorious Feast of Corpus Christi. Many thanks to our volunteers who worked to organize our Corpus Christi Procession and Block Party. Even though the Tropical Storm caused us to cancel the outdoor procession and party, our committee put in many hours of work planning and preparing for this event. It is deeply appreciated! Early registration is open now through 10 June Early registration fees are $25 per child with a $75 maximum. Registrations received after 10 June are $35 per child with a $105 maximum. Patrick for his ministry among us during his brief stay at the Cathedral and St. Mary s. The Bishop has assigned Fr. Patrick as Parochial Vicar at Christ Our King, effective 1 June 2016, to assist Msgr. Carter who has not been in the best of health. We welcome Fr. Rudolph Anrah, a military chaplain studying at Fr. Jackson in Columbia, will be helping out with the weekend Masses for the next month or so. However, given the loss of a second full time priest assigned to the Cathedral and St. Mary s, I will be adjusting the daily Mass schedule until at least Labor Day. The weekday summer schedule is: 7 am Mass at St. Mary s: Wednesday only 12:05 pm Mass at Cathedral: Monday-Friday Please pray for priestly vocations for the Diocese of Charleston! Msgr.
