Easter Flower Donations Help make the church beautiful for the Easter season by donating flowers in memory or in honor of loved ones. Names will be printed in the Easter bulletin. Use your envelope provided or a blank envelope with your name and the names of those you wish to honor. Deadline for submission is Monday, 3 April. The publication date is difficult to pin point as it is believed Byrd did not publish all parts together in order to make it easier to distribute for the celebration of Masses held in secret in homes. Join us at the 11:15am Mass on Sunday, 2 April to experience this inspiring Mass setting! Part-time Secretary: The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist is seeking a Part-time Secretary for the mornings to answer and route incoming calls and aid in clerical work. Applicants should be Catholic, people oriented, have excellent communication skills, friendly phone presence and knowledge and love of their Catholic faith. Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Publisher) and Adobe InDesign. Ability to learn simple website updating a plus. 4 26 March 2017 Cathedral 40 Days for Life 1 April Days for Life is a peaceful prayer vigil held outside of abortion facilities around the world to pray for an end to abortion and to offer support and alternatives for women in unplanned pregnancies. On Saturday, 1 April, the Cathedral Parish will support the 40 Days for Life prayer vigil to end abortion. We are committed to providing two peaceful prayer witnesses for every hour from 7:00am to 7:00pm. Please sign up to take an hour and pray at the vigil site, 1312 Ashley River Road, Charleston. Lent is a special time that you can make this sacrifice of your time to be a "Christian witness" and help save lives. Sacrament of Marriage Either the bride or the groom must be a practicing Catholic and registered at the Cathedral for at least twelve months before scheduling a wedding date and beginning the six month marriage preparation. The bride/groom must be an active parishioner, regularly attending Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation, and use of the envelope system in support of the parish.
