SACRAMENTS : Confessions: Monday to Friday before 8AM Mass Saturday 4:00 PM. All other times by appointment. Baptisms: Baptisms will take place the 3 rd Sunday of the month at 1:30 PM. An instructional class is required for all parents & Godparents and will be held the 2 nd Wednesday of the month, at 8PM in the Church. Parents should call the rectory to arrange the celebration. Marriages: Reserve and register date & time as soon as possible, at least six months in advance of the wedding. Pre-Cana and other instructional sessions are required for all couples. Ministry to the Sick: Sick calls and Communion calls on the First Friday of the month. Please call the Rectory.

3 December 3rd, 2017 First Sunday of Advent Parish Community News & Events Thank you to Steve De Ieso and all the volunteers that worked our November Flea Market. $ has been donated to our church. Thank you also to all the volunteers that worked selling Polish meat & bakery products and the Kitchen Staff. Christmas Craft Fair: Beautiful Handmade Items Sat. December 2-10AM-3PM, Sunday Dec.3-9AM-2PM. All handmade items. Centerpieces, cemetery cones, crosses and wreaths. We will have a jewelry boutique, full line of polish bakery items and of course wide selection of fresh and smoked kielbasa, kiszka, polish cold cuts. Volunteers Needed for Church Christmas Decorating Please lend a hand in beautifying our church for Christmas. Sat., Dec. 16, 2017 at 11AM All volunteers are welcome and appreciated. Christmas tree Donation: St. Josaphat s Church needs to replace the five trees that decorate our altar for Christmas. We expect the trees to cost about $300 each. St. Josaphat's Right to Life Committee is sponsoring its Baby Shower for Life this year from November 25th to December 10th on behalf of Bright Dawn Ministry. Sr. Dorothy Rothar, who founded Bright Dawn Ministry, provides sidewalk counseling to women visiting the Choices abortion clinic in Jamaica, Queens. Thanks to your donations and gifts received from other parishes, Sr. Dorothy is able to organize a monthly baby shower at The Immaculate Conception Center in Douglaston to provide the brave women who chose life much needed supplies to care for their new baby. The Baptism of the baby is also arranged by Sr. Dorothy. Please place your gifts of baby clothes for girls AND boys, diapers and other baby items in the Carriage of Love in front of the Blessed Mother s altar. Monetary donations can be made by check payable to Sr. Dorothy Rothar, CSJ and dropped in the collection basket or Pennies for Life donation box in the back of the church. Parish Community News & Events It was on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception that Our Lady of Guadalupe, patroness of the Americas and the unborn, first appeared to St. Juan Diego. The National Night of Prayer for Life bridges these two feasts to honor Our Blessed Mother and prays through Her intercession for the establishment of a Culture of Life. * (taken from the national night of prayer) We ask you to choose an hour or more between the hours of 9 pm to 1 am (Ideally at 9pm) on Dec. 8th, to pray the Rosary in your home along with our brothers and sisters across our Great Nation. 4 Parish Community News & Events As many of you remember, months ago we completed the Generations of Faith campaign at our parish. The campaign experienced tremendous success and we raised $308,570. To date, $120,109 has been collected. Remember, over 50% of the funds collected will be returned to the parish! Here at St. Josaphat s, we will receive $154,285 on our total raised of $308,570! I would like to give my genuine and heartfelt thanks to all the families and individuals that helped make the campaign a success. Please be sure to send your pledge payments in by mail or submit your pledge payment in our collection baskets on Sunday. You can also visit Thank you! Our parish goal for the 2017 Annual Catholic Appeal is $23,540. This goal is based on the most current financials of our parish that were submitted to the Diocese. Knowing the goodness of our parishioners, when they see the need, they will respond. Again this year, the Bishop has agreed to gift back all monies collected over goal to the parish. So far 55 parishioners have donated $15,205. Please make every effort to help Saint Josaphat s reach our goal again this year. Join Fr.
