Parish Registration: All families are welcome to the Parish and should register in the Rectory. Please call to make an appointment with the Pastor. SACRAMENTS : Confessions: Monday to Friday before 8AM Mass Saturday 4:00 PM. All other times by appointment. Baptisms: Baptisms will take place the 3 rd Sunday of the month at 1:30 PM. An instructional class is required for all parents & Godparents and will be held the 2 nd Wednesday of the month, at 8PM in the Church. Parents should call the rectory to arrange the celebration. Marriages: Reserve and register date & time as soon as possible, at least six months in advance of the wedding. Pre-Cana and other instructional sessions are required for all couples. Ministry to the Sick: Sick calls and Communion calls on the First Friday of the month. Please call the Rectory. St. Padre Pio Mass & Devotion Tuesday, November 14th,2017 Please note the date change! 7PM Holy Hour Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, Recitation of the Rosary, Divine Mercy Chaplet, Benediction, & Confessions. 8PM-Mass Thanksgiving Food Drive In all circumstances give thanks, for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus 1 Thessalonians 5:18 This year, in gratitude for God's many blessings, St. Josaphat's will again be collecting non-perishable food for St. Michael's Pantry, which serves families, elderly and homeless. From November 4 th through November 19 th, we'll be collecting Canned Food (vegetables, fruits, soups, cranberry sauce, gravy, sauces, evaporated milk, etc.), Dried Goods (rice, pasta, bread stuffing, corn muffin mix, instant mashed potatoes, pudding mix, etc.) and Fruit Juices. Please note that Protein Sources (beans, tuna, stew, sausages, chicken, etc.) are especially needed. Note: Items past their expiration date cannot be accepted. Also needed are small toiletries, such as soap and tissues, for the homeless. Kindly place your donations in the black collection bins located near church doors. In lieu of food, monetary donations can be dropped in the St. Michael s Food Pantry donation box in the back of the church. Please make checks payable to St. Michael s Church with Food Pantry written in the memo line. By extending a hand to our less fortunate brothers and sisters, St. Josaphat's demonstrates the true spirit of Thanksgiving, in word and deed. OLBS CATHOLIC ACADEMY PLANNING MEETING Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Academy invites everyone (parishioners, academy staff & parents, alumni, & the local community) to a meeting on Thursday, November 9th at 7 PM in the auditorium on 203 rd Street to continue the growth and advancement of the academy. The Office of the Superintendent of the Diocese of Brooklyn has invited us to undertake strategic planning for the future. Strategic planning is a necessary steppingstone for furthering re-accreditation and turning dreams into reality for the students entrusted to our care. To be done correctly, this planning must involve all the communityat-large. Please consider coming to the meeting to learn more about your possible involvement in the strategic planning process and to share your ideas, hopes and dreams for the continued advancement of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Academy. 4 Parish Community News & Events As many of you remember, months ago we completed the Generations of Faith campaign at our parish. The campaign experienced tremendous success and we raised $308,570. To date, $118,762 has been collected. Remember, over 50% of the funds collected will be returned to the parish! Here at St. Josaphat s, we will receive $154,285 on our total raised of $308,570! I would like to give my genuine and heartfelt thanks to all the families and individuals that helped make the campaign a success. Please be sure to send your pledge payments in by mail or submit your pledge payment in our collection baskets on Sunday. You can also visit Thank you! Our parish goal for the 2017 Annual Catholic Appeal is $23,540. This goal is based on the most current financials of our parish that were submitted to the Diocese. Knowing the goodness of our parishioners, when they see the need, they will respond. Again this year, the Bishop has agreed to gift back all monies collected over goal to the parish. So far 53 parishioners have donated $14,680. Please make every effort to help Saint Josaphat s reach our goal again this year. Join Fr.
