Louis Boué 2014/2015 Executive Faithful Navigator s Report Sir Knights, To begin with let us pause and pray for the soldiers who unselfishly gave their lives to defend our country and protect our freedom. May they rest in peace and also the souls of two SK s that passed away this past year, SK Paul E Hamelin (died March 8) and Brother Jerome Charbonneau (died Jan 28). Thank you S.K. Reg for Chairing the Membership Meeting for me last month when I was unexpectedly called to be at Met Hospital for 6 o clock that evening. I finally made it home at 10:45 that evening. He is also conducting the Executive Meeting for me this month as I am gone for a week on a much needed vacation. Once I get back I hope to have my medical problem taken care of quickly. What an honor it was for the Color Corp of Fr. Louis Boué to be invited as Honor Guard for the 150 th anniversary Mass at St. Joseph s Church River Canard with Bishop Fabbro as the celebrant. We had 12 Color Corp in attendance and it was a beautiful service. We also had a good attendance of Color Corp for Kingsville s annual Migration Parade with a great fellowship meal afterwards at the K of C hall. Thank you S. K Lloyd Grandmaison for the excellent chili you prepared for us. You are always there for us when needed. I also want to thank our Worthy District Marshall Gord Edwards and the members of Dean Wagner and Marentette Assemblies who joined us for the parade and fellowship afterwards. If I missed any other Assemblies in attendance I apologize as I am still trying to get to know everyone. Our next function will be the November 11 th Legion Parade in Amherstburg. If you have never been there you are missing a beautiful and emotional service. P.F.N. and Lead Commander Dan Orawski will be sending out the information shortly. Returning home from my short vacation the surgery to remove the small tumor in my bladder is scheduled for November 28 th as day surgery so I will be in and out on the same day. 2 .continued from Faithful Navigator's report My Urologist says the tumor is equivalent to an early stage of skin cancer and everything should turn out okay. It should not affect my duties as Faithful Navigator. I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the Membership Meeting next Thursday. I always feel I am missing something but that is pretty well normal for me. Keep me in your prayers. SK Larry Everaert, PGK, FN Faithful Navigator Faithful Admiral s Report Sir Knights and Ladies of the Assembly, I hope that everyone remembered to do their Civic duty and VOTED in the past Municipal Elections. If you didn t, You have no right to complain. On November 9, 1989 the Berlin Wall fell how many remember the people who could once again taste freedom a freedom which we take for granted. It has now been 25 years since this historic moment occurred, let us ALL Pray that another such wall will never be built and that ALL Mankind will soon rejoice in World Peace and Joy - especially as Advent approaches. Remembrance Day 2014 SK Robin Beaune awarded 1500 pt plate On November 11 th, PLEASE remember to observe 2 minutes of silence and reflection at 11:00 am; it is a time to be so grateful for the GREAT Country that we live in and for the freedoms that have been won by the sacrifices of those who have served this Great Country and especially for those who have paid the ultimate price. As I stated last month, Our Membership is down to 133 Sir Knights and WE now know that there will be an Exemplification in Pain Court on May 30th, 2015 we are still waiting for details. WITH THIS IN MIND LET US ALL ASK AT LEAST ONE 3rd MEMBER IN OUR RESPECTIVE COUNCILS TO JOIN THE 4TH DEGREE. It is never too early to start signing up New Members. 3 Faithful Captain s Report Brother Sir Knights, At last month dinner meeting in McGregor we had 41 Sir Knights and Ladies in attendance. It was a great night with superb food, excellent fraternity and a few friendly games of BINGO. Although we had a good number of Sir Knights in attendance, several others had indicated they would be attending, but for some reason did not or could not. This costs our Assembly the cost of those meals as the Halls prepare food for the number attending, which we obtain through our callers. Please be resolute in your commitment when the caller makes that contact with you. I am still in need to two Sir Knights to make monthly calls for our dinner meetings, one from the Amherstburg area and one from McGregor. It will only mean making 7 or 8 phone contacts per month and would greatly reduce my workload. Please consider assisting your Assembly and myself in this regard. Last month s Ladies BINGO seemed to go over very well, so we are going to repeat it again this month. Ladies please bring a bingo dabber or colored marker to mark your cards. Lady Rose has some fun and chocolate prizes for the luck winners. I also want to bring to everyone s attention some schedule changes regarding dinner meetings, the January and April 2015 meetings both scheduled to be held in Harrow have been moved up one week to January 15 th and April 16 th respectively. Please excuse my earlier error. Our Christmas Party has been set for December the 13 th in Amherstburg at the K of C hall. Dinner will be a traditional Turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Cost is only $25 per person. Plan now to make this event and celebrate the Christmas Season. Remember that this month s meeting is being hosted at the River Canard K of C on Thursday November 20 th with the meal starting at 7:00 pm. This is for both Sir Knights and their Ladies. I am looking forward to seeing many of you in River Canard on the 20 th. Vivat Jesus, SK Reg Campbell, PGK, FDD Faithful Captain Lead Commander s Report Worthy Sir Knights of the Assembly and Colour Corps, as I had mentioned we are down to 41 Sir Knights who are Members of the Assembly s Colour Corps and of those we only have 16 that are able to attend functions such as parades and there are at least 8 more who can attend if their schedules permit, those are just facts. We need to give Our Assembly and Colour Corps Memberships a boost and with an Exemplification in May 30 th, 2015 in Pain Court - Let Us Do So. REMEMBER that it is everyone s responsibility to recruit not just one persons. Here is a recap of Our Colour Corps activities to date. On October 18 th the 45th Migration Festival Parade took place. We had 17 S.K s participate with 9 being from Our Colour Corps. There was a time of Fellowship at Council 8233 s Hall after the Parade. The 150th Anniversary of St. Joseph s River Canard was celebrated on October 26 th with a Special 2:00pm Mass. We had 12 Sir Knights attend this Special Mass. Fr. Dwayne was extremely happy with our presence, especially with the Bishop being the celebrant of this Mass. We were Thanked publically by being mentioned in the back of the Mass program booklet. On November 1 st, 2014 we have been requested to escort the Head table in for Council 8233 s Annual Members Banquet. Counting myself, We had 7 S.K. s with ALL 3 from This participation is very much appreciated by the Councils. On Sunday, November 2 nd, Dean Wagner Memorial Mass at Corpus Christi Church, we had 1 Sir Knight attend. On Sunday, November 2 nd at 4:00 pm a Memorial Prayer Service at the St. Francis Mausoleum at Heavenly Rest Cemetery and Procession to the statue of the Venerable Father McGivney. We had 5 Sir Knights from Our Assembly join to make a total 37 Sir Knights attending. On November 8 th, 2014 Council 2844 s Annual Members Banquet and Memorial Mass at 5:00pm. We had 5 Sir Knights attend. Also on this same night we had 3 of Our Members from Council attend their Council s Banquet in Colour. Upcoming Colour Guard events On November 15 th, at 6:30pm Kingsville Santa Claus Parade we meet and assemble in the Zehrs parking lot at 6:00pm with the Parade starting at 6:30pm. Fraternally yours, Comptroller s Report Sir Knights, We will soon be approaching the end of the year. This means that the membership dues will soon need to be paid. The cards are printed up and I am accepting dues. For the members who are heading south for the winter, could you please pay them before you leave. If there are any Honorary Life members who are traveling, please let me know so I can print up a travel card for you. Your plastic Honorary Life card is good here but there is a chance it might not be acceptable at another assembly that does not know you. If you need an explanation for that, I will gladly go over the reason for the need of a travel card. (I do not want to write too long of a report explaining the reason). Please remember that the dues only go to pay for expenses to run our assembly and not for meals, tickets donations etc. Our membership is unchanged since last report which is ok because at least we are not going down. We will be having a fish fry fundraiser on Friday February 27, It is important that we get as many members, their family and friends out to this event as possible. It is a very easy way to raise money and the prices are very reasonable with all meals under $ If you do not like fish, there is chicken available. We will need a few volunteers however the work is easy and will not be a problem. One group we had in said that this is the easiest way to raise funds and beats all other ways. We will need a good showing because the more people that show up means the bigger the donation will be. Funds raised will be used to pay out donations for members who have left us to be with our Lord. May all our Sir Knights stay well and God bless.
