GRAND KNIGHT S REPORT Summer is upon us. We have had our elections all of our executive positions have been filled. However, there is a catch: we do need directors to step up and fill some of our director positions; a list will be sent out soon. This is the time for any brother who wants to get involved helping out his council to start helping the executive. We need new brothers to step up into these positions of the directors rolls read them over and see if you re interested in give me a call Without your continued support, our council will be in trouble in the near future. We have our executive in place for the next few years, but we need more men to step up. Remember why

2 you became a Knight. We do this because we love it, but without help from our membership or new members taking on new roles, we are going to be in trouble. Please remember that old saying: What you put into it is what you get out of it. As you know, we had the surveys go out and many of you are satisfied with your commitment to the Knights. However, this has to change because we need men to step up. When you look at the attendance in church, it is sparse. Look at the attendance at our meetings: it s steady, but it s the same guys coming out. We need new faces to help. So, Brothers, please think about your council and what it means to be a Knight. Our council s health, well-being, and survival depend on more membership involvement. Invite all the family members you wish. Hot dogs and burgers will be provided. All you need to bring is a salad, dessert, or chips to share. There will be kids games and hay rides. DISTRICT DEPUTY S REPORT Brothers, we are fast approaching the end of this fraternal year, and I would like to say THANK YOU TO ALL THE COUNCILS IN OUR DISTRICT for all the hard work that ALL have exhibited throughout the year. I would also like to THANK ALL THE EXECUTIVE OFFICERS OF EACH COUNCIL for their dedication to their respective memberships, which as we know, is the most important asset that we the Knights of Columbus have and share.

3 For this new fraternal year of and to those NEW EXECUTIVE OFFICERS AND THOSE RETURNING to their respective or new posts, I say WELCOME BACK and PLEASE CONTINUE THE GOOD WORKS THAT YOU ALL HAVE started in the past year or years. Also, remember that even though we are starting a new year, we still have much work that must be done, for example: the semi-annual audits, and the completion of forms that are required to keep every council in good standing. The installation of officers has almost been completed and we need to concentrate on recruiting new members. We MUST HAVE A RECRUITMENT DRIVE SOME TIME DURING THIS NEW FRATERNAL YEAR; State and Supreme recommend October, so we will be having some sort of training in late summer or early fall. PLEASE BE READY TO VOLUNTEER. There is a Knighthood Degree scheduled in Harrow for July 22 nd. The degree will start at 2:00PM; candidates need to be there at least half an hour earlier. Every council should be encouraging anyone who is not yet a 3 rd degree member to attend. The cost is $10.00 per candidate. There is a meal available to those who wish to partake in some fellowship after the degree; again, the cost is $ Both are payable to the host council, Francis J. Clarke Council #5350. Please tell me before JULY 14 th if a member or candidate will be attending, and if attending just the degree or meal or both. I have been asked to stay on as the District Deputy for this new fraternal year and have accepted. I WISH TO THANK ALL FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION DURING THE PAST YEAR AND HOPE THAT THIS CO-OPERATION WILL CONTINUE. IT HAS BEEN AN HONOUR TO SERVE YOU AND I HOPE THAT YOU ALL FEEL THE SAME. I will be in Toronto for the district deputies meeting July 6 th through the 8 th and will be holding a district meeting in Kingsville on July 12 th. Please also keep in your prayers, the members of our extended families: Steve Benson's dear mother PHYLLIS BENSON, as well as his father-in-law ALEX JACKSON, both diagnosed with cancer. Please also pray for MICHAEL and ADALINO MEDIEROS. All those of you whose names do not appear in this report, please know that you are being prayed for and thought of daily. Frank Vlasschaert has transferred out to Blenheim. Another squire has become a knight; Caleb Coutler made his 1 st Degree at Squires Convention and his 2 nd Degree at our hall on June 18. Welcome! Ont. Raffle Tickets were sold at Zehrs & Freshco. Thanks to all who helped there; also, thanks to all the Knights that sold books on their own. A total of 550 tickets were sent to State, which was a good number since we didn t get them till just before Wild Game. We are going to need a chairman for this next year, for this to continue.
