He did not say we spend our treasure on what we love. He said we come to love what we spend our money on. Giving is not primarily something we do to keep our church doors open, although it is important our doors always are open. We don t give just so our church treasurer can pay the bills, although paying the bills always is important. We are experiencing a budget crunch, and our financial leadership is asking that you respond to the COMMI ED campaign. Please respond to the insert in the newsletter, and consider the following words. We give because it is an essential part of our spiritual lives, like prayer, Holy Communion, Bible study, and singing. We give because our affections follow our finances. If we invest our treasure in spiritual things and in mission and ministry, we will become more spiritual, missional people. Attention: Children Bell Choir members. The Children s Bell Choirs will play for Mother s Day on May 10 during the Bridge Worship service. I need all members to come to practices on Wednesday nights at 6:15 p.m. and I will need all members to come to Sunday School on May 10 so that we can practice in the sanctuary. Calling all Crossfire Youth: The youth will have a car wash to raise money during Spring Splash, May 2. Also, we will handout water bottles with TUMC information to those who attend the Spring Splash. Please wear appropriate clothing to wash cars. The time is 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. Let me know if you will be helping with the car wash. Thanks! Rev. Brenda Dowell All youth and children of Trinity: An older woman said she was giving 21 percent of her income to God through her local church. Years earlier, she had given only 3 percent. But one year, while listening to a stewardship sermon, she decided to increase her giving by 2 percent a year until she was tithing. Giving felt so good, she said, that when she got to 10 percent, she didn t want to stop, so she just kept increasing her pledge. Now she never intends to stop. Like prayer, tithing changes things. But more to the point is this truth: like prayer, tithing changes us. Don If your child would like to go to camp this summer, I need their registration forms turned in by the end of April so that we can see how many scholarships we will need to provide. Oh! The Places You ll Go! Rev. Brenda Dowell Here is a wonderfully wise and blessedly brief graduation speech from the one and only Dr. Seuss. Youth Sunday will be May 3.

During this service, our graduating seniors will be recognized as they receive a special gift from the church. After the service, we will have a luncheon for all the graduates and their families.

3 Oh! The Places You ll Go! Rev. Brenda Dowell Here is a wonderfully wise and blessedly brief graduation speech from the one and only Dr. Seuss. Youth Sunday will be May 3. Our Graduating students will be Honored The Trinity youth are going to lead the Bridge worship service. The youth choir will sing and some of our youth will be preaching. During this service, our graduating seniors will be recognized as they receive a special gift from the church. After the service, we will have a luncheon for all the graduates and their families. This includes those graduating from high school, college, graduate school, tech schools, etc. Do not miss this unique service led by our youth in honor of our graduates. Show our youth and graduates how much you support and appreciate them. ***So, please contact the church office if you are a graduate of any kind. We need your picture and graduation announcement for the church bulletin board. We don t want you to miss this special Sunday in your honor. 14 Congratulations! Today is your day. In honor of our high school graduates, (Caitlin D., Brooke S., Hunter D., Lauren F., Hailey C., and Jazzmine W.), and our college graduate, (Liana Woods), we want you all to know how proud we are of you. You have achieved a remarkable task and many opportunities lay ahead. Push forward and see yourselves as amazing individuals. We will take a break, and I will see you all next September!!! G-Force VBS Pam Cunningham WE NEED YOUR HELP! The G-Force VBS decorating team needs your help to make Trinity look like an Adventure Park. This is the list of items we need: Skate boards boogie boards pool noodles roller blades roller skates scooters bikes Bike helmets balls (any kind) hula hoops jump ropes pogo sticks We will take these items on loan or donation. We would like to have them by June 7 so that we can transform Trinity into an Adventure Park on June 13. Don t miss the VBS Team Meeting Sunday, April p.m. in the parlor 4 13

5 Family Activities Tonya Jelf Dear Friends, Thank You! End of School Family Campout Friday, May 22 through Saturday, May 23. Family Activities Event - Bring your tents, sleeping bags, chairs, and teddy bears. Bring your favorite story book - The kids and the whole church family will be camping out on the lawn. We will use the Foley House for restrooms. Start setting up your tents on Friday. It officially starts at 7 p.m. We will have music, games, and story time. We will need the use of portable grills for snacks (so please let me know if you are able to bring one). If you play an instrument, bring it along. We should utilize our grounds as much as possible, and I hope that everyone will join us. If you own a camper, set up in the parking lot but remember we don't have hookups. Just saying...god will do powerful things during this family friendly event. Family Activities will provide the ingredients for s'mores and bottled water. What is left over from Spring Splash? Do you have good clothing that you just don't wear? On Saturday, May 9, we will have a Family Clothing Swap. Bring gently used, clean, clothing. Please ensure that there are no holes or tears in clothing (unless part of style, as in jeans) for babies, children, youth, ladies, and gents to the church gym. The CLOTHING SWAP will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. We will have a CLOTHING GIVEAWAY from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. If anyone would like to volunteer for the clothing giveaway that would be awesome. We will notify the public to come and receive clothing. We just need peeps in the hallway to direct people towards the gym. We may need them for swap, too. 12 My family and I thank you for the wonderful birthday celebration in my honor at the March 29 Trinity Fifth Sunday Lunch. I treasure your friendship and truly appreciate all the good wishes, cards, gifts, and hugs. 6 Outreach Jean Fraley SPRING SPLASH In two weeks from today, the 2015 Spring Splash will be history. You have a little over a week to get your things together to bring to the church for the Flea Market sale. Don t hesitate, get busy and do it today. You will help others benefit from the things you can t or don t use anymore. Don t forget to call to schedule the pickup of large items. Mark your calendar for May 2. Come out for the Pancake Breakfast by United Methodist Men. Take your vehicle around for the Car Wash by the Crossfire Youth, and then get on the MEDIC bus to give blood. All of the activities are a part of helping others through your donations. FOOD MINISTRY The food ministry continues daily. Your gifts are so appreciated. Please help when and however you can. MEDIC The MEDIC bus will be at Trinity on May 2, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. during our Spring Splash. We have fallen behind this year in our donations! In order to continue blanket coverage for our congregation, we need more than 40 more donations. Please prayerfully consider being a part of this important mission of our church.
