2 Rev. Don Thomas Who likes to be called "predictable?" I don't. The word suggests someone who is rather boring and colorless. I am often tempted to do the unpredictable just to show I am not "predictable." With that being said, I am seeing that many have become predictable in living out their membership vows to uphold the church by their "prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness." I have seen many times how 'predictable" means "uninvolved." Is your life following this predictable rut? Are you slipping more and more away from the ministry of your church? The good news is that this a wonderful time to get involved in fall ministries soon to begin. Watch for the monthly newsletter announcements, Sunday morning and updates, and word of mouth. You'll be blessed. Welcome Larry Northcutt who united with our congregation by transfer from another United Methodist Congregation! Don Continuing Prayers Aileen and Tom Fugate, Joanne Stansberry, Kenny Higgins, Linda Williams, Rowena Walker, Jean Neil, Billie Brooks, Norris Roberts, Joe and Jo Lentz, George Seal (father of Scarlet Walker), Prayers for those with recent surgeries and health needs: Bill Fraley, Tom Kinkead, Belle Simms, Larry Best, Maci Smith (granddaughter of Jeff and Cindy Tallent); Loraine France, Pat Bailey, Larry Wallace, David Eilart, Continuing Care Lola Corrier, Mary Dixon, Mary Heimbaugh, Nancy Wallace, Sue Woods. George Deaton (father of Julius Deaton.) In the Military Mathew Chesney, Tim George, Wayne Houser, James Raxter, Ryan Witzak, Bennie Satterfield. With Sympathy We hope you enjoy your new monthly Trinity Herald! The next newsletter will be printed on September 29! Please be aware that the deadline for newsletter submissions will be the 20th day of each month! Sympathy to Gail, Matt, Mike, Charity, and family, in the passing of Gail s brother, Allen Wallace on July 31 in Austin Texas. Sympathy to the DeLong, Strnad, Bell and Tacomas families in the passing of Cindy s mother Marcetta DeLong 2 15
3 Happy Birthday! Rev. Brenda Dowell 9/1 Ann Tockstein 9/6 Cindy Bell 9/7 Tiffany Thornton 9/9 Teresa Gross 9/10 Katie Helms 9/10 Heather Jennings 9/11 Sherry Hobbs 9/13 Liana Woods 9/14 Ed Coppock 9/15 Jerry Lang 9/16 Sammy Proietto 9/16 Sandy Jelf 9/16 Maxine Ryan 9/16 Bob Seaman 9/16 Matthew Raymond 9/19 Joe Mischlich 9/26 Janell Snodgrass 9/26 Sylvia Sergent 9/28 Tommy Keesling 9/28 Marty McNeil 9/30 Bill Compton 9/30 Drew Burkley I Will Remember All Of You passion that comes from her. Rowan Williams implies that when you see a great performer, a singer or instrumentalist at work realizing a piece of music, you are looking at one human being at the limit of their skill and concentration. All their strength, their freedom, and you could say their love is focused on bringing to life the work and vision of another person. Think about Jacqueline du Pré legendary playing of Elgar s Cello Concerto memorably captured on film. How beautiful the music and I have wrestled with the decision for some time to go live with my daughter and her husband in Macon, Georgia. They are retiring soon to Florida. I will be leaving soon to do so. Trinity and it s members have meant so very much to me. I love and will remember all of you. Viola Frazier My new address: Viola Frazier 1335 Conestoga Road Macon, GA Honorariums In Honor of Ann Inabinet Given to the Food Ministry by Sadie Kinnamon Now, could we imagine what it might be like for a whole lifetime to be given up to a performance in that way? Jesus is performing God s love, God s purpose, without a break. We see the intensity of the struggle and the strength of the joy that goes with it. How beautifully Jesus performs the love and care of God. Aren t we impressed with the ability of Christ and the wondrous melodious moment of the Spirit of God that dwells within each of us. What melody does the Spirit sing within you? I hope it is one of passion and joy, a performance of a lifetime. Blessings, Rev. Brenda Dowell 14 3

We had six sewing machines and two sergers going for a day and really accomplished a lot. Thanks to the Quilters for being a part of helping others.
