The G-Force VBS decorating team needs your help to make Trinity look like an Adventure Park. This is the list of items we need: Skate boards Boogie boards Pool noodles Roller blades Roller skates Scooters bikes Bike helmets Balls (any kind) Hula hoops Jump ropes Pogo sticks We will take these items on loan or donation. We would like to have them by June 7 so that we can transform Trinity into an Adventure Park on June 13. Happy Memorial Day Vacation Bible School G-Force is about putting our faith into action. The G-Force team would like for the congregation to set an example for our VBS participants by giving them a head start on the three mission emphases for the week. For the next three weeks, we ask that you bring items for KARM, the Food Pantry, and school supplies. These items will then be displayed during Bible School in the gathering space and the kids will be asked to add to them during the week. Help us set a great example for our kids of Faith in Action. Overton was a pastor of a church in Mississippi with a wife and three small children. His wife was pregnant with their fourth child but when it came time for delivery, there were complications and both she and the baby died. During the funeral service, the preacher officiating the service noticed Rev. Overton writing something on a piece of paper. To better inform our church family of where we are financially, we will put information concerning our general budget needs on the back of the bulletin. Please pay attention to this information so that as a spiritual family we can be aware of our financial need. Also, we are going to have a financial section in the church newsletter to make you more aware of where we stand financially. Below are images of Wendell our Financial Weather man character that has been developed to show us immediately the status of our giving. Please check out this section of the newsletter. All is Well. We are doing great!! Looks like it might rain! Beware! Pay attention! Need Help! It is raining! It is storming! We need everyone to help us now, so we can get back to sunny skies. We are making a bulletin board to honor our service people. We would like to ask any family members to provide names, photographs, and any information you would like to provide. Please provide any of these items to the church office or Gail Vandiver. 10 Let us not forget how wonderful we are as a church. 4 Sheryl s Notes Crafters Jean Fraley The Trinity UMC Crafters sponsored SPRING SPLASH and along with funds from the TUMC Craft Sale and a Delta Kappa Dinner have designated funds as follows: $1000 Trinity UMC Youth for Camp Scholarships $ 500 UMCOR Nepal and US Tornado Disaster Areas Chancel Choir Schedule May 24: No choir Happy Memorial Day Praise team at 10 a.m. as usual May 31: Choir at both services. Some of our youth at Trinity will be Baptized/Confirmed on Pentecost Sunday which is this Sunday May 24. Come and support them during the Bridge Worship Service. They are ready to make their commitments to walk hand in hand with Christ on this journey of life. We celebrate them and rejoice with them. 4 Calling all Crossfire Youth: The last two Wednesday nights in May we will meet at the Foley House from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Please eat before you come. Snacks will be available. On May 27 we will Hang out at the Foley House. 5 Outreach Jean Fraley A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU to everyone who helped in any way to make the May 17 worship services special as well as the luncheon after second service. Donation distribution will be noted in the next newsletter. The purpose of the luncheon was to raise money for Becky Piercy s mission trip to Costa Rica. Food expenses have to be taken out first. Holston Conference Hands-On On-Mission Project For Liberia Sunday, May 24, is the "last call" for help on preparing the backpacks for Liberia. Turn your donations in for this project in order for the supplies for each backpack to be bought. Special call to Small Groups that meet, Sunday School Classes, United Methodist Women, and United Methodist Men. Texas Roadhouse May 24 is the last opportunity to take your church bulletin to Texas Roadhouse in order for Trinity UMC to receive 10% of your food cost to help defray expenses for Becky Piercy's Costa Rica mission. You can have a good meal and help "Others" at the same time! Finances & Giving Where R We Financially? In order to stay on the church budget that we have for 2015, we need to bring in $10, every week. For the month of May we have brought in these amounts: May 3 around $13, May10 $7, May17 $6, This put our financial need at $19, for this upcoming Sunday, May 24. So Wendell, our Financial Weather man cartoon is alerting us below: It is storming! We need everyone to help us now, so we can get back to sunny skies. Please help us to meet our budget. We can t do it without you! Thank you for your continued dedication and commitment to our church. Some of our youth will go to Camp Wesley Woods on June and others will go to Camp Lookout. Please keep them in your prayers. Thanks to Outreach and those who supported Spring Splash for helping our youth have the funding they need to go to Camp. *If we need more funds, Rev. Brenda will let the church know. Calling all Crossfire Youth: We will go to Sir Gooney s this Saturday May 23. Come with us as we enjoy of time of driver Go-Carts and playing Golf. We will leave the church at 1 p.m. The cost is $20. Scholarships are available. 8 5
