From the East Fraternal Greetings Brethren, It is hard to believe my year in office is coming to an end. I have to admit I was met with many challenges this year both personal and professional.

4 From the East Fraternal Greetings Brethren, It is hard to believe my year in office is coming to an end. I have to admit I was met with many challenges this year both personal and professional. I did my best to be a good Worshipful Master. I have been amazed at what really goes on in the lodge this past year. It s not just about coming to lodge, paying the bills, reading the mail etc. there is so much more behind the scenes. I cannot thank enough all the officers and brothers that have helped me this year. It is without a doubt a huge group effort to keep the lodge running...each and everyone one of you plays a very important part. So THANK-YOU to each and every member of Venice Lodge 301 for your help and support this past year, it is definitely greatly appreciated. Please continue to support our Lodge and our incoming Master and his officers. I have no doubt they will do an incredible job in Please make every effort to attend this month s stated meeting on Dec 7th. This will be when you, the brethren approve and elect your officers for As we head into the holidays is it is time to reflect and be thankful for all that we have. We have all had some hiccups throughout the past year...let s look forward to 2016 and make this another great year for Venice Lodge 301. 5 From the West Brethren, It s hard to believe that 2015 is coming to the end. It seems we just got started. I would like to take this time to thank W:.M:. Derek for helping the lodge have another great year. I have enjoyed working with him and this year s officer line. I would also like to thank all of the brothers and their lady's for their help and support they gave this year. Thanks for a job well done. I would like to welcome back our winter brothers back from the North. It s always great when the snowbirds come back as our sideline fills up and we get to catch up with brothers we haven't seen all summer. I hope everyone has good and safe holidays. Let s all remember why we joined this the greatest fraternity in the world. Venice Masonic lodge installation of new officers will be on January 2 nd. Our dinner will start at 5:30PM and installation will start at 7PM. Our own Chef Deb Sims will be preparing the dinner and music will be provided by The Cross girls. It should be a very nice evening. 6 From The South Brethren, Can you believe it s almost Christmas! This year has flown by. As we approach Pearl Harbor Day on December 7 th, let us remember all of our brave men and women in the military, law enforcement and first responders who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our great country. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve as your Junior Warden this past year, it has been a great honor and pleasure. A special thanks to Debra Sims for all of her hard work in preparing all of the outstanding family dinners we enjoyed this past year! We look forward to more great meals and fellowship in the coming year. I also want to thank all of our brothers and their ladies who volunteered to help in the kitchen this past year. You all were the reason our dinners and fund raisers were so successful. Just a reminder, Christmas wreaths will be placed at all of the headstones in Sarasota National Cemetery on Saturday, December 12 th. It generally takes place around 10:00 am. Last but not least, I wish all of our brothers and their families a wonderful Holiday Season! Our next family dinner will be held at the Lodge on Monday, December 21 st starting at 6:00 pm. PILLARS OF THE PORCH PILLARS OF CLOUD AND FIRE It is thought that King Solomon erected these pillars as a reference to the Pillar of Clouds and the Pillar of Fire.

7 PILLARS OF THE PORCH PILLARS OF CLOUD AND FIRE It is thought that King Solomon erected these pillars as a reference to the Pillar of Clouds and the Pillar of Fire. He did not simply erect them as ornaments, but as memorials of Gods repeated promise of support to his people. The name of the pillar on the left came from two words, IN and STRENGTH meaning of which is "in strength it be established" the name of the pillar on the right came from one word, JEHOVAH meaning "God". When you place them together you have "God will establish his house of Israel". These pillars stood as a daily reminder to those who entered the Temple. I mentioned Pillars of Cloud and Fire, at the beginning. The Pillar of Cloud, emblematic of water, went before the Israelites by day and the Pillar of Fire emblematic of light, lead them by night in their journey through the wilderness. The one on the right represents the Pillar of Cloud, and the one on the left the Pillar of Fire. The names of the pillars are symbolic of the strength and stability of the Institution. They have many meanings but what they represent is the superintending and protecting power of the Deity. 7

Several brothers donned the uniforms of their respective services. Additionally, the Lodge took this opportunity for W:. M:. Derek Lynn and W:. Lou Ortt to present a Widow s Pin and bouquet to Lady Roleen Lewis. Brothers of Venice Lodge #301 rendered able assistance to R:. W:.
