However, the sparse attendance was disappointing. Fr. Mike Bergeron gave the invocation and Dean Eschete, our insurance representative for the Knights of Columbus, gave a brief biography of our Founder, Fr. Michael J McGivney, relating his works to our responsibilities, toward our fellow man in today's world. As always, the food was great! Many awards were presented. Vince Naquin, Louis Savoie, Marvin Dupre, Kervin Voisin, Gregg Pellegrin, Richard Mike Naquin, and Raymond Foret all received Knights of the Month Awards. Families of the Month were Barry and Tama Forsyth, Gregg and Faith Pellegrin, The Ladies Auxillary, and Vince and Jean Naquin. Youth receiving Knights of Columbus awards were: Kim Linton for her award winning essay, Responsibilities of Catholic Citizens in Today's Society, which she read to us. Dylan Dardar won an award for his substance abuse poster. Each received a $25 check. CYLA winners, for their organization activities, were Steven Shaw and Hope Hunter. Each received a $100 check. For those of you whom we have not seen in a while, come join us! 5 Theme Women of The Bible. April: Abigail April 01: Easter Egg Hunt April 06: Adoration of the Holy Eucharist April 12: Board 6PM Jean s house April 18: Auxiliary meeting 6:30, 7 PM April 21: LLAA Retreat, Baton Rouge Auxiliary Birthday s Michelle Pellegrin March 13 Theresa Rogers April 02 Jennifer Trahan April 19 Heidi Ledet April 25 Carrie Giroir April 27 Women of the Bible Abigail is described as wise, prudent, sensible, gracious, and generous. Abigail was married to Nabal. Although he was wealthy, he was disrespectful and stingy. David, the king-elect of Israel is running from the threats of King Saul. He has surrounded himself with six hundred men and turned them into a fighting force. David and his men protected the flocks of wealthy livestock owners from raiders and wild animals. Custom was that when the sheep were sheared, these protectors would be paid. Problem was, Nabal refused to pay David and his men for what they had done. Once David found out, he decided to take 400 of his men and kill the household of Nabal. In steps Abigail. Her mind and body leaped into action to find a way to appease David and protect Nabal. How would she handle this tense situation? She had her servants start cooking. She sent some of the servants ahead and she followed close behind. Not only did she feed David and his men, she took the blame for what had happened. My lord, let the blame be on me alone (1 Samuel 25:24). What a sensitive and gentle spirit! She knew her husband deserved everything he had coming to him. But in this simple, beautiful way, Abigail resolved the situation. She wasn t thinking about herself. Abigail was thinking about David s future and also about Nabal and the innocent family members whose lives would be lost in the battle. Abigail s action proves that a person who has discernment can serve in a quiet, peace-promoting way that sees beyond herself to look out for the interest of others (Adapted from Living Insights Study Bible).

7 Different life stages, changing needs You may have a long-range expense for which you are saving, such as college for your children. You may be concerned about a comfortable, worry-free retirement. You may want to protect your ability to earn a living. You may wonder if needing costly long-term care will deplete your hard-earned assets. You want to have something to leave for your wife, children or grandchildren. At some point you may have had all of these needs on your mind. Over time, these thoughts make way for others as your needs evolve, your finances change and you get older. What is important to you at age 20, may not be at 30, or 45, or 65. What is the best way to be prepared for these changes before they happen? One of the easiest ways to be financially ready for changes that come with different life stages is to meet annually with your professional Knights of Columbus agent, and address the needs that his analysis uncovers. This can help you be ready to face the financial challenges and issues on the road ahead. During that annual visit, he will take the time to review your needs, goals and budget. He will update all beneficiaries on your policies and be sure your coverage meets your needs. He will recommend a program of life insurance, long-term care, disability income insurance and guaranteed retirement products that will help you rest easy at night. Whatever your needs, whatever your concerns, whatever your stage in life, he can help. Contact me today to learn more. Terry Kennedy, General Agent Office: Terry.kennedy@kofc.org Riddle answer from page 2 NOTHING! NOTHING has 7 letters. NOTHING preceded God. NOTHING is greater than God. NOTHING is more Evil than the devil. All poor people have NOTHING. Wealthy people need NOTHING. If you eat NOTHING, you will die. *** Reminder *** Reminder *** Reminder *** Annunziata Council dues for 2012 are now due. If you have not paid your dues yet please send it in as soon as possible to prevent excess mailing. If you have already paid please disregard this message. Thank You!!

8 God Said... If you never felt pain, then how would you know that I m a Healer. If you never went through difficulties, how would you know that I m a Deliverer? If you never had a trial, how could you call yourself an over comer? If you never had sadness, how would you know that I m a Comforter? If you never make a mistake, how would you know that I m a Forgiver? If you knew all, how would you know that I will answer your questions? If you were never in trouble, how would you know that I will come to your rescue? If you were never broken, then how would you know that I can make you whole? If you never had a problem, how would you know that I can solve them? If you never had any suffering, how would you know what Jesus went through? If you never went through the fire, how would you become pure? If I gave you all things, how would you appreciate them? If I never correct you, how would you know I love you? If you had all the power, how would you learn to depend on Me? If your life were perfect, what would you need Me to do? Rosary For World Peace Imagine what might happen if every Catholic in the world would pray a Rosary on the same day! We have an example in October of 1573, when Europe was saved from the invasion of the mighty Turkish fleet, by the praying of the Rosary by all Christians! So, on Good Friday, let us all pray a Rosary for peace in the world and the return of moral values into our communities. If possible, please pray your Rosary between Noon and 3:00pm. Also, please this message to every Catholic on your address list, and ask them to pass it along to every Catholic on their lists. Let's unite in praying one of the most powerful prayers in existence, for these intentions, on one of the holiest days in our Church year.
