4 Brother Emery Forsythe has volunteered to take the appointed position of Financial Secretary. His Application is being submitted to Supreme waiting approval. Thank you Brother Emery! We will open nominations for Recorder to fill the position being vacated by Brother Emery at the January meeting. We will elect a Recorder at the February meeting. STATE CONVENTION May 3-5, 2019 Crowne Plaza Hotel (Baton Rouge) COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES Each year, thousands of Louisiana residents participate in a Louisiana Life March event around the state. The events consist of a march for life and a rally featuring music, speeches, and prayers. Learn more about the individual marches at: Baton Rouge - January 26, AM - Noon Louisiana State Capitol 900 N. 3rd St., Baton Rouge, LA CATHOLIC SCHOOL TUITION LOTTERY The Louisiana Catholic School Supplemental Tuition Lottery Program is open to the children of Knights of Columbus members who are in good standing. Four winning entries will be drawn each quarter. Each winning entry will receive $ paid directly to the child s Catholic School. Names of winners will not be removed from future drawings for the school year. Pre-Kindergarten and 12th Grade Catholic Students are eligible. See your Grand Knight for rules, information and application. The Priest A man who reeked of alcohol flopped on a subway seat next to a priest. The man's tie was stained, his face was plastered with red lipstick, and a half-empty bottle of rum was sticking out of his ripped jacket pocket. He opened his newspaper and started reading. After a few minutes, the disheveled guy turned to the priest and asked, "Say, Father, do you know what causes arthritis?" The priest, disgusted by the man's appearance and behavior, snapped, "It's caused by loose living; being with cheap, wicked women; drinking too much alcohol; and having a contempt for your fellow man!" "Well, I'll be," the man muttered and returned to his newspaper. The priest, thinking about what he had said, nudged the man and apologized. "I'm sorry to have come on so strong - I didn't mean it. How long have you been suffering from arthritis?" "I don't have it, Father. I was just reading here that the Pope does."
