Grand Knight s Corner My dear Knights, When you made your 1 st Degree, you made a promise to The Blessed Mother and her Rosary. It hurts me to hear some Brother Knights say Don t say the Rosary at our meetings. It takes too much time and we lose some of our member because of this. What a slap in the face of Jesus! Brothers, our love for Mary must stay strong. Mary and her Rosary are our highway to Jesus. As Catholics, prayer is our most powerful weapon. We shouldn t be on again / off again Catholics, acting as Catholics only when the mood hits us. The Blessed Mother has asked us to pray the Rosary every day and praying once a month is not too much to ask of a Knight. Brother Knights, please remember your promise. Ron Novak

Pope Francis I am very excited to begin my second year as the JFK Ladies Auxiliary President. I again want to reach out to both new members and former members who have left the Auxiliary. I would also like to invite wives of the Knights to come to a meeting or event to see if they might be interested in joining the Ladies Auxiliary. The purpose of the JFK Ladies Auxiliary is to assist the Knights of Columbus Council 2952 and to promote good fellowship through religious and social activities. Any female, 18 years or older, related by blood or law to a Knight (alive or deceased) in good standing with his Council is eligible to join. The Knight does not have to be a member of Council 2952, and the female does not have to be Catholic. Annual dues are $10 for September through May, and are to be paid by December 31. I have called a meeting with the new officers to come up with both service and fun activities for the Ladies. It is my goal this year to increase both areas, and to give you much more for your $10 membership fee. I again pray for the Holy Spirit to guide all of us to do what is right and best for the organization. We will have a Pokeno night on Wednesday, August 5, at 7:00 pm. Please bring $2 to participate and be ready to have fun! Snacks will be provided. Our first meeting will be held September 2 at 7:00 pm, with rosary at 6:45 pm, in the small side of the KC Hall. It will follow the monthly Pro- Life Rally and meal with the Knights. I look forward to getting started on another great year!! The JFK Ladies Auxiliary Lady of the Month for July was not at the social, so I will keep her secret for another month. God bless, Denise Need a Form 100? Brother Knights of JFK Council 2952 we need to recruit more members for our council, especially younger members. If you have a family member who is eligible to be a Knight, or a friend or a new neighbor, you will need a Form 100 to give to him. Don t have one on hand? Yes you do!! Your copy of the Columbian magazine has two copies of a Form 100, on the front and back covers. Please ask these men if they re interested in becoming Knights sometimes they re just waiting to be asked.

4 Benefit Raffle and Steak Dinner Tickets for the 17 th Annual Benefit Raffle and Steak Dinner to benefit the mentally challenged citizens in our community are being sold. Tickets are $100 each and entitles the holder to a chance to win one of four prizes: two $5,000 prizes and two $500 prizes. In addition, the holder recieves steak dinners for two, served at the council home on Saturday, October 3 rd, as well as door prizes and a silent auction at the dinner. Dinners will also be available for take-out. There are approximately 400 members in the council and if everyone purchased a ticket or sold a ticket to a friend or family member, we could easily reach our goal. If you find out you have a penchant for selling tickets, don t stop at one ticket, sell as many as you can! What we re trying to say is, don t depend on the other person to sell the tickets. Please do you part to help the council with this fundraiser to help the mentally challenged citizens of our community. Remember, charity to our fellow man is one of the principles of the Order. 5 July Social Installation of Officers The July social, held Saturday, July 18 th, was the Installation Banquet for the Knights and Ladies Auxiliary of JFK Council The guests of honor were District Deputy Gasper Corpora and District Warden Jesse Bergeron. Special thanks go out to the Fr. Martin 4 th Degree Assembly color guard for posting the colors and serving as escorts during the installation ceremonies. Deacon Nat Garofalo blesses the medals that will be conferred onto the newly elected officers of the Knights and Ladies Auxiliary. As outgoing Grand Knight, Chip Blessey introduces District Deputy Gaspar Corpora as master of ceremonies for the installation and newly elected Grand Knight Ron Novak. Ron Novak receives the Grand Knight medal from his daughter, Nettie. Newly elected officers of JFK 2952 await the instruction of their duties from District Deputy Gaspar Corpora. Chip Blessey receives his certificate as Knight of the Month for July from Grand Knight Ron Novak.
