1 Home of Past Grand Chaplain Rev. Michael Martine Antlers Tale Volume th ANNIVERSARY Issue 12 - March Hempstead Avenue, Lynbrook, New York Volume th ANNIVERSARY Issue 12 - March 2018 Paul Schneller Exalted Ruler I can t believe that this is my last message for our bulle6n. Time has just blown by. Being Exalted Ruler is both challenging and rewarding. It was also a bit more difficult job than I had an6cipated. I apologize for my shortcomings and hope that they did not inconvenience anyone. I want to thank all my Officers for their dedica6on and hard work, as well as everyone who chipped in during the year. From organizing events, chairing commigees, and just general help around the Lodge, your help was greatly appreciated. Last but not least, I want to thank the Board of Trustees for their 6reless efforts in running our Lodge. It simply would not exist without their dedica6on. Speaking of dedica6on, aker 26 years of edi6ng our newsleger, The Antlers Tale, our Secretary Lou Mohr is stepping down as Editor. His hard work over the years is unparalleled. If anyone is interested in carrying on Lou s legacy, please let me or Lou know so that the Bulle6n can con6nue uninterrupted. Thank you Lou, for everything that you have done for NY#1. Rehearsals for the Elks Show for the Veterans have already begun. They take place every Monday evening at 7:30pm. Songs of the 70 s is this year s theme and the show for Veterans will take place on Wednesday April 25 th and for the Lodge on Friday. April 27 th. Don t miss it! If it s anything like last year s, it will be amazing. Our March Madness drawing is coming up on Sunday, March 11 th, starting at 4pm. There are still tickets to be sold, so if you want to purchase a ticket, ask Mark Stuparich or Dennis Mescall. Pooling together with your friends is also a great way to get in the game. Our New York State Elks Association President Phil Conaty and his wife Betsy will be visiting our Southeast District from March 2 nd to the 4 th. He will be at NY#1 Sunday morning the 4 th for Brunch at 11AM. There is information in the Lounge on his schedule with the other Lodges in our District. Thanks to Mike Boller and his crew for putting on a great Super Bowl Party. I don t have a list of everyone who helped out, but it was a fun time with great food. And for once, it was a pretty good game, too! We are having an Initiation Ceremony on Thursday, March 1 st. Come down and support our new members. Don t forget the 150 th Birthday Celebration on April 7 th, This is really shaping up to be an amazing evening. It will celebrate an important milestone in the history of our Order and New York Lodge #1. Sign up ASAP as spots are going fast. And, as always, Amy and I look forward to seeing you at the Lodge. Paul Schneller Exalted Ruler
