2 Our Purpose The organized unit of the United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and experience freedom, as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a crea ve, suppor ve fellowship, and to expand concepts of mission though par cipa on in the global ministries of the church. 9 Officer Responsibili es Chairperson: Presides at all circle mee ngs A ends UMW execu ve mee ngs Provides mee ng informa on Co Chairperson: Performs du es of the chair person in her absence Arranges circle mee ng programs. Secretary: Keeps an accurate record of circle proceedings The minutes may include a endance, devo ons, programs tle and presenter, date of mee ng, new members, guest, any birthdays, anniversaries, or special events. Treasurer: Will turn the money and report immediately following each mee ng to Barb Valer, 409 Jefferson Blvd / The circle money and report may also be turned in to the church office. 9
10 Mission Coordinators Educa on & Interpreta on: Promote mission educa on opportuni es. Meet with Mission coordinator as needed Meet monthly with Missions lay leader School of Chris an Missions / Ingathering Help select special mission pin recipients. (spring) Decide who will receive the lunch money. (fall) Plan World Thank Offering program. Membership, Nurture, and Outreach: Work on projects to increase membership and invite prospec ve members to a circle. Keep records of members who leave or become inac ve or pass away. Recognize member s birthdays and anniversaries. Deliver devo onal books to shut ins every other month and remember them on special days. Prepare cards for graduates. Social Ac on: Bring social issues before the membership. Be available to answer ques ons of public policy for circle coordinators. Spiritual Growth: Assign members to provide devo ons for each mee ng or do them herself. 10

Will contact chairmen about workers and cakes needed. Will do ordering, preparing and delivering of any addi onal food the family may request. Will be available to work if requested to do so. Monthly Chairperson: Will no fy monthly callers to call for workers and cakes. Will be supervising the workers of funeral day. Funeral Recep ons: The UMW provides sandwiches, cake and coffee it the family so desires. The family must provide any addi onal food items they wish to have served. There is no fee designated for providing this service. Dona ons accepted. 11
12 Events Policy Revised and Accepted by UMW on Nov. 19, 2015 Items covered by policy are weddings, anniversaries, gradua ons, showers, birthday par es, and all other gatherings. No alcohol or tobacco used in the building. No alcohol will be consumed on the grounds including the parking lot. All food must be eaten in the kitchen or Fellowship Hall not in any other part of the church. Handi tac or similar product will be used to a ach any temporary signs or decora ons within the facility. No Scotch tape, masking tape, duct tape, staples, tacks, or nails will be permi ed. All signs, decora ons, and personal materials must be removed immediately following the event. No confe or gli er is to be used in the facility. All events must be assisted by the UMW. The Events Coordinator will meet with the person reques ng the event to confirm plans. The Events coordinator (or designated UMW person) will be in a endance when the person ren ng the facility is present at the church to help them find items they need in prepara on for the event. Fellowship Hall Member/Regular A endees Free, Dona ons Accepted Non Affiliate fee $100 Fellowship Hall and Gym Member/Regular A endees Free, Dona ons Accepted Non Affiliate fee $150 UMW will prepare coffee and serve the food that has been provided and prepared by the person using the facility, UMW will assist with clean up a er the event. One hundred guests can be comfortably served in the Fellowship Hall with eleven round tables and two long tables with room for serving tables. No events will be held on holidays. 12
