5 THE LIGHTHOUSE BEACON Page 5 Join a Relay for Life team Dear Lighthouse Church: Thank you so much for all your thoughts and prayers for us and mom. Also, thank you for the delicious cookies for the family lunch. You all are such a blessing. Cindy Walters and family Relay for Life is a team fundraising event where team members take turns walking around a track or designated path. The Miami County relay is six hours in length, from 6 p.m.-midnight June 9 at the Osawatomie Trojan track, and each team is asked to have a member on the track at all times to signify that cancer never sleeps. Cancer patients don't stop because they're tired, and for one night, neither do we. Relay for Life started 32 years ago as one man walking and running a track and has turned into a global event that has raised over $5 billion to help save lives throughout the world. If you are interested in joining a Lighthouse Presbyterian team, contact Jane Hines at or mjanehines@gmail.com. We need: People willing to walk on the night of the relay; sponsors to help with fundraising; sponsors for luminaria to honor cancer survivors and those who have lost their lives to the disease. Lighthouse Church Family: Thank you for your prayer and support during this difficult time. We have been blessed with meals, calls, snacks for hospital stay and hugs. It is comforting to know that we have an extended family that loves us. Thank you.
