We hope to include you in the excitement! This event is for all ages, couples/singles. Cost is $6 per person with the maximum of $20.00 per family. The fun begins after dinner with the same magician as last year, only with a new act. Brad Linn, a KC North Police Officer for 16 years and member of Antioch Baptist Church will delight "kids" of all ages. Mr. Linn shares his talents and delights audiences thru libraries, churches, scouting events and festivals. You may call in your reservations today to the church at , or Rebecca@paolalighthouse.com. 2 THE LIGHTHOUSE BEACON Page 2 Job Position Children s Ministry Director Wednesday Nights January 9th March 6th Please join us for this nine week program focused on Children s growth in Christ. (Children 4yrs through 5th grade.) Lighthouse Presbyterian Church is looking for a Children s Ministry Director. This is an important position for the church, leading our youngest members to know and love God. The position is 20 to 25 hours a week. It is responsible for running the Sunday morning and Wednesday night children s activities. 3 THE LIGHTHOUSE BEACON Page Shoebox Results Thank you for your commitment to Operation Christmas Child, and sharing in the joy of introducing children around the world to Jesus! We are glad to share with you, the final number of shoeboxes collected in 2018, and celebrate what God has done through you. PACA Food Bank is in need of the following items: Can milk Peanut Butter & Jelly Mac & Cheese Spam/Luncheon Loaf Muffin Mix Instant Oatmeal Canned Beans only (black beans, pinto beans or garbanzo beans) As you know, Lighthouse Church became a Central Drop Off in The only change was that on the final day of collection week, there were 8 other drop off locations within the KC, KS South area that brought all their shoeboxes to us and everything was loaded into 2 big trucks sitting outside in our parking lot. Once the trucks left our parking lot, they headed to the Processing Center in Denver, CO. Following is the breakdown of what was collected in 2018: Lighthouse Church: 932 shoeboxes KCKS South area: 13,721 shoeboxes (amount loaded into trucks) Lower Midwest Region: 676,801 shoeboxes (KS, MO, IL, NE, OK) United States: 8,801,607 shoeboxes International (including US): 10,623,776 shoeboxes If you would like to donate items on a monthly basis, please feel free to put them in our collection container located in the Church office. Each month we will be collecting different items that can be packed into a shoebox. In January, we were gathering hats, gloves and scarves and for February we are asking for accessories for both boys and girls for age groups of: 2-4 years; 5-9 years; years. 4 THE LIGHTHOUSE BEACON Page 4 Family Camping and Float Trip June 13-17, 2019 Montauk State Park A thank you to my Lighthouse Church Family for your thoughts and prayers the last couple of months while I ve been in and out of the hospital and my long stay at NorthPoint. I was able to return home on Jan. 25th. With thanks, Bev Knapp The Current River is well-stocked for trout fishing and is the main attraction for most campers here. It is one of the clearest and coolest rivers in Missouri, as it is spring-fed and is great for floating. Sign up by filling out a form, located on the Information Stand and turning in a deposit (as listed on form) by April 14th. Please sign up as soon as possible so that we may reserve all sites needed. For more information you may contact Troy bruzafam2015@gmail.com / Other Helpful Information: Every family, bring your own food, drinks, tent, sleeping bag, lawn chair, supplies, etc. There is a restroom, shower house, grill, picnic tables and playground. Bring Bikes! They are great for riding around. The campsite deposit is refundable up to 14 days before the float trip minus an $8 cancelation fee. Montauk is one of the best state parks and fills up fast! Campsite/Cabin information Canoe Rental Information ***Cabins are also available with varying amenities including bathrooms, kitchens, and bedrooms ranging from $80-$180/night at Montauk State Park. Reeds Cabins is another option once Montauk s own cabins are filled. Cabins are ready to be reserved a year in advance, and they disappear FAST! If you would like to stay in a cabin, please make your own reservation for these dates ASAP!
