THE GRACE OF GIVING Be Joyful and Generous! 2018 THANKSGIVING GIFT The givings to date are 16,623 from 151 donations. Our target is to raise 20,000 between Sunday 4th November and Sunday 30th December. The first 2,000 raised will be given to the Moderator s Indonesia Tsunami Appeal. If you would like to make a gift, please use the envelopes available at reception or using the link on the Church Website to the Just Giving page.

3 NEWS, EVENTS & NOTICES STAFF COVER OVER CHRISTMAS/NEW YEAR If anyone requires the services of a minister over Christmas and New Year contact John Dickinson WORLD DEVELOPMENT APPEAL 2018 The 2018 PCI World Development Appeal is entitled Seeking Safety and is supporting a Safe House in Brazil which has already helped 1,500 women since They have had to leave very abusive situations and are now able to move on with their lives. Envelopes are available at the reception desk. BEREAVEMENT We regret to announce the death on 14 December of Mrs Eleanor Hill, late of 16 Carnvue Drive and extend our loving sympathy to the family circle at this sad time. KINGDOM KIDS ARRANGEMENTS OVER CHRISTMAS Kingdom Kids arrangements over Christmas will change slightly to fit in with special services and to allow our volunteers some rest over the Christmas period too. Here are the plans... 23RD DECEMBER 10.00am service: All age carol service. No organised kids ministry. We would love the whole family to stay in the church service as far as possible but if you wish there will be toys available in the session room (upstairs in the church building) for the Little Stars. 30TH DEC EMBER 10.00am service: All sections return their usual format. CARNMONEY.ORG CENTRAL We would love you to join us on Sunday 30th December as we gather jointly with the May St Presbyterian congregation at 2.00pm for their final service as we celebrate all God has done through that congregation and look forward to the handover of the building to Central in the new year. There is no 4.30pm gathering. We return to our normal service time of 4.30pm at Assembly Buildings on Sunday 6th January as we kick off a series on Epiphany. Our Kid s Ministry Kid Central will be available. 4 CARNMONEYCHURCH NEWS, EVENTS & NOTICES COFFEE MORNING The Pastoral Care team would like to invite the over 60s to their monthly Coffee Morning which will be held in the Church Centre Coffee Bar on Monday 7th January from 10.30am - 12 noon. We would love you to drop in for tea/coffee and a chat. It will be an opportunity to build community and develop relationships. Please invite your neighbours, friends and relatives - all will be made most welcome! FINANCE UPDATE We are coming to the end of our financial year again and the last date that we can receive monies into the Church accounts for 2018 will be Sunday 30th December. Would Treasurers of our organisations please note that any donations to the Church for heat, light, minibus etc. for 2018 should be submitted as soon as possible. Thank you to those who have already sent in their donations. Final accounts with small adjustments for bank charges and/or interest should be sent to the Church Office by Friday 4th January together with copies of your bank statements as our external audit is scheduled for 16th and 17th January Many thanks to the counting teams and organisation Treasurers for your continued dedication and support which is much appreciated. Finance Team OVER 35S VS UNDER 35S MEN S FOOT- BALL AT SEAVIEW: This annual match will take place on Saturday 5th January at 6.30pm. Anyone over the age of 16 is welcome to play. The cost is 10 per player to cover pitch hire and to enable us to make a donation to the Cancer Fund for Children. Please contact Andy Hair if you d like to play and indicate your actual age so that he can assign you to the right team! (Andy Hair ) PRAYER & WORSHIP AT BELFAST BIBLE COLLEGE: On Friday 11th January at 7.30pm we ll be gathering for worship and prayer with other local churches who have pattered with us in the Cairn Learning Community. This is an open invitation to anyone at Carnmoney who d like to join us on this evening. There ll be the opportunity to hear what God is doing among us and to pray for one another. The team are looking for people to get involved in a variety of roles so if you think you could offer some time, especially in terms of helping clients practically, please get in touch with Daniel for a chat about what s involved - daniel.black@carnmoney. org or WINTER FUEL ALLOWANCE If you have been given winter fuel allowance and do not need it, please consider passing it on to the CAP centre to help those struggling due to soaring costs in the cold weather.
