Resurrection Day Colossians Meet in the car park at 8.00am to walk up Carnmoney Hill for worship, then back to the coffee bar for breakfast at 9.00am. If it is very wet we will worship in the coffee bar instead. There will be no worship at 9.30am but services at 11.00am and 6.30pm will be held in the Church as usual. Please use the information cards to keep in touch. Green Cards - to request information about joining and supporting our ministries and activities. Multi-Coloured Cards - to register an interest in using your gifts to serve. Blue Cards - to inform us of pastoral information about yourself or someone else. Michael Wylie will respond to information on the Green and Multi-Coloured cards, and Stacey Trimble to the Blue cards. THE GRACE OF GIVING Be Joyful and Generous! We give thanks for the grant which we have received for the funding of our CAP Centre Manager for the next 3 years from September. This has been awarded by the North Belfast Presbytery Urban Mission Trust. CONNECT AND FUSION. Fusion has now finished for the Easter break and will return on 28th April. BEREAVEMENT We regret to announce the death on 2nd April of Mr Desmond Colgan, late of 7 Carnhill Road and extend our loving sympathy to the family circle at this sad time. CARNMONEY NEW MEMBERS COURSE If you are considering joining Carnmoney and want to explore church membership, we d love to hear from you. A New Members Course will continue today and 28th during the 11am service. These sessions are open to all and the course is delivered in such a way that there is no obligation to join upon completion.
3 NEWS, EVENTS & NOTICES CARNMONEY AGM 2019 The congregational Annual General Meeting will take place at the end of 11.00am worship today. The usual business will be transacted and in addition to that the final part of the election of the congregational committee will take place. Any questions on these reports should be addressed to the officebearers prior to the AGM. MODERATOR S APPEAL/RETIRING OFFERING Thank you to everyone who contributed to the Moderator s PCI Appeal for Southern Africa - Cyclone IDAY. Just under 1,000 was collected from our congregation. COFFEE MORNING The Pastoral Care team would like to invite the over 60s to their monthly Coffee Morning which will be held in the Church Centre Coffee Bar on Monday 29th April from 10.30am - 12 noon NOT the first Monday in May as this is a Bank Holiday. We would love you to drop in for tea/coffee and a chat. It will be an opportunity to build community and develop relationships. Please invite your neighbours, friends and relatives - all will be made most welcome! CARNMONEY.ORG HOLY WEEK PRAYER / 15TH 19TH APRIL During Holy Week the Prayer Room will be open from 9.00am 9.00pm each day. If you would like to book a slot please contact Michael Wylie or sign up using the sheet at the Reception Desk/Foyer. PRAYER BREAKFAST FOR YOUTH/ CHILDREN MINISTRIES Jamie and Lynsey McMillan are having a prayer breakfast on Saturday 11th May at 9.00am at their house 156 Ballyclare Road. This will be to pray for the ongoing work with children and young people, everyone is welcome. UNWANTED CHRISTMAS GIFTS FOR MISSION On Saturday the 11th May the Moldova Team will be holding a sale of unwanted gifts in the church halls to raise funds to help families in Moldova during our trip this summer. The sale will start at 10am and will finish at 1pm. We would ask you to donate any unwanted gifts you may have at home, in particular, toiletries, perfume, candles, scarves, jewellery or any other items you think would be appropriate. Items can be left in the vestibule or at the entrance to the coffee bar area from Sunday 14th April - Sunday 5th May in the boxes labelled for Moldova. Thank you for your kindness and support. Joan Blain TUTORING AND MENTORING For the last few months we have been delivering tutoring and mentoring on a trial basis to pupils from Glengormley High School. To expand on this we are looking to create a pool of tutors and mentors. To do this you will need to be available and flexible to go into school through the week and to have a degree or A-level in relevant subjects. Training will be provided to everyone. 4 NEWS, EVENTS & NOTICES DAILY PRAYERS The church staff will continue with their daily routine of prayer until Good Friday, 19th April. They will gather for prayer for 15 minutes from Monday to Friday at 12 noon. Normally this will be in the church building but when it is being used, in some other space in the Church Centre. The time of prayer will follow a simple pattern of scripture reading, responsive, open and silent prayer and occasionally, praise. The Church Staff would like to invite you to join us as we establish this rhythm of prayer initially for the remaining period of Lent. PW The last meeting for this years PW is on Tuesday 16th April at 8.00pm in the meeting room. We welcome our own Stephanie Manson and our former Musical Associate Karen DeLuke. They will be bringing us Beautiful Music to bring our session to a close. All ladies welcome. CHAT N PLAY will not meet on Wednesday 17th and 24th April. We will be back again on Wednesday 1st May from 9.30am in the Meeting Room. Please remember to bring a tin can! All ladies welcome. TOTS & CO are having a break over Easter and will resume on Wednesday 1st May from 10.30am for their Sponsored Toddle in aid of the Northern Ireland Children s Hospice. PRECEPTS INDUCTIVE BIBLE STUDY The next date is Friday 10th May at 10.00am in the Meeting Room. Thanks to all the men who joined us and we hope to see you all again at the end of September. CARNMONEY LADIES CYCLING GROUP BIKE BELLES Summer 2019 sees the launch of a ladies cycling group based out of Carnmoney Church. It won t be a fast or competitive group, but just a bunch of ladies who want to get out on their bikes for Fun, Fitness & to make new Friends. We will try to get out for a spin each Saturday, and will start with some very short, slow and flat routes. You certainly don t have to be an experienced road cyclist to join in, and several gallant members of Manic Cycling have volunteered to help out with our first few rides. The first two rides are planned to take place on the afternoons of Saturday 18th and 25th of May. An introductory session will be held on Saturday 11th May at 2pm in the Church Car Park. This will be your opportunity to come along and ask any questions, to get your bike checked over by people who know what they re talking about, to have a practice ride around the carpark, to see whether you fancy joining us for our first proper ride. Finally. the most important points:- You must wear a cycle helmet for all rides You definitely don t have to wear lycra You must agree to enjoy every moment of it You must smile at all times Nobody will ever be left behind Bring a friend if you want Every ride will involve a stop for a cup of tea and a wee scone You must be over 18 and under 118 If you have any questions please contact Louisa McKenna on

CAP JOB CLUB The next 8 week course starts on Thursday 2nd May from 10.00am to 1.00pm which includes refreshments, light lunch and is free of charge. Venue: Carnmoney Church Centre Who s it for? Anyone who wants support, motivation and encouragement on their journey back to employment. CV & Job Application skills, interview practice and lots, lots more. You can help. How? Promote the course by telling others: posters, flyers etc are available in the Job Club boxes on the reception and vestibule desks. Pray: that those who would benefit from the course would find out about it, for an effective and successful course and remember the team of volunteers who make it happen.
