Join us in celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior. Invite the whole family to see this program. Children participating in the program need to be here by 10:00am on Sunday, December 7th. Silent Basket Auction Fundraiser! Starting December 7th the Children s Department is doing a fundraiser! We are having a silent basket auction. This is a great way to start your Christmas shopping. We will have some unique and fun baskets. Is there a better way to Christmas shop and support the Children s Department at the same time? I don t think so! If you would like to donate a basket, please contact Choiseul Orebaugh at (620) New Quarter Begins! This Sunday, Dec. 7th, a new adult Sunday School Quarter begins! The books that are going to be studied are listed on the next page. We are offering a wide variety of choices such as: a traditional class based on our Doctrinal Beliefs, a book study of 1 & 2 Timothy and Titus, a book by Mark Batterson titled Wild Goose Chase, and a DVD series by Chip ingram called Culture Shock. We hope that you prayerfully consider a Sunday School class where you can connect, grow, and serve! Join Us! Everyone is Welcome!

2 New Adult Sunday School Discipleship Classes (December through February) We encourage you to prayerfully search for the one that speaks to your heart and join us! We look forward to seeing you at 9:30am on Sunday as we grow together in God s word. Our Heritage This Holiness class follows our Doctrinal Beliefs with material from our Nazarene Publishing House. This quarters study is divided into four discussion sectons: Engage Interest, Exam ine Life, Explore the World, and Exercise Faith. Belief and Behavior: Instructions for Living The apostle Paul knew the importance of discipleship. He mentored Timothy, a young pastor facing all sorts of challenges. He pointed the way for Titus, a pastor shaping an early church. Paul s letters to these young leaders are packed with instruction and guidelines, principles and encouragement. These practical words of wisdom are valuable keys to discipleship in any generation. Wild Goose Chase Mark Batterson The Spirit of God is like a wild goose. The Spirit of God cannot be tracked or tamed. An element of danger, an air of unpredictability surround Him. Most of us will have no idea where we are going most of the time. And I know that is unsettling, but circumstantial uncertainty also goes by another name: Adventure. Culture Shock Chip Ingram Our culture is a reactionary culture, where divisive issues arise, people on either side throw stones, and everyone ends up more entrenched in their opinions than in reaching common ground--or even common courtesy! Now, is the time for Christians to understand and communicate God s truth about controversial and polarizing issues. Connecting 101 Do you want to learn more about the Nazarene church? Everyone is welcome to join Pastor Tim! He will discuss with you the following topics: our heritage, doctrinal beliefs, and the vi sion for our local church. * Please Note: This class is required for full membership at GCN.

Be checking your bulletin and ENEWS for more details on this and other upcoming events. Club 52 Members Thank you for your continued prayers and support! We greatly appreciate all of you being our prayer warriors in all that the youth ministry attempts to do and be for the community of Garden City. We could not do the things we do with the protection and safety that we have had without the care and hand of the Holy Spirit. I would ask that you continue to be praying for our ministry, the schools, teachers, Fellowship of Chris tian Athlete clubs, and students and families. Pray for the seeds that we have planted and that are being watered on Wednesdays. Please also join me in prayer for an un derstanding of what it means to move towards spiritual maturity. College & Career - The Circle- Young Adults We are continuing with our series this week. It is the study by Neil Mammen called 40 Days Towards a More Godly Nation So, join us this Wedsnesday to discuss new and interesting topics This series asks some hard-hitting questions such as: How do we turn our nation back to God? Is our nation due for punishment or correc tion? How do we reduce poverty, crime and child abuse? So, be prepared to have good, lively, and in-depth discussions! To Life! Jamie

We will be holding an Ornament Exchange. If you would like to participate in this activity, please bring an ornament. Make sure the cost of the ornament is no more than $5 if you purchase an ornament. Please be sure to RSVP! Christmas Cantata The Christmas Cantata that the choir is singing this year is The Name Jesus. The GCN choir will be performing this Cantata on Sunday, Dec. 14h, at 10:45am. This Christmas Cantata is a very moving and worshipful experience. It has musical diversity and a few special places to involve kids and the entire congregation. Invite your friends and family to come hear this Christmas Cantata! We will need all children in the Children s Building by 10:00am to start getting everyone ready. The dress rehearsal will be Sat. Dec. 6th, from 10:00am to 12:00pm in the sanctuary. All children are welcome to come and participate, even if they have not been here for all practices. We will be singing Christmas carols at the Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Hol comb, on Dec 6th. Any child or teen that would like to participate needs to be here at 4:30pm to ride over to Holcomb together. Parents are welcome to meet us over there and you can pick your children up from the park, or we will bring them back to the church to be picked up. The ceremony begins at 5:00 and we will sing about 5:15. Please contact me if you have any questions.
