The willingness of so many people to be open handed with their resources, time and skills is characteristic of our church family. There are far too many people to mention names individually but volunteers were all responsible for: planning, design, sourcing props, creating the lamppost, spraying tree branches, donating wood, modifying a wardrobe, set up of the hall, craft, games, drinks, buns, take down, tidy up and a whole range of other jobs! Our weekly rhythm calendar starts from scratch at the beginning of each year. Similarly if you have never spent time in i56 and want to find what it is and how you can connect with it, contact Ben for more info. We are in need of volunteers to maintain the garden this coming year. If this is something you would be interested in helping out with, or you would like to volunteer in some other way please get in touch! Thanks! LEGO! 5 NEWS, EVENTS & NOTICES CARNMONEY.ORG STRUGGLING WITH DEBT? Call free on Daniel Black Centre Manager NEWTOWNABBEY FOODBANK CHRISTMAS APPEAL Newtownabbey Foodbank will be making up its usual Christmas hampers and would appreciate donations of tins of biscuits and shortbread from our congregation. Last year your generosity helped us to provide much needed Christmas cheer for many families in Newtownabbey. Donations can be made by leaving them in the trolley in the church. Thank you for your continued support. Mina NEWTOWNABBEY FOOD BANK Although a voucher system is in place this does not affect donations from our Church. The trolley will still operate with all food going to the Warehouse for preparation and distribution. There is a food collection point in Tesco, Northcott, please share this with your friends and support us if you can. FINANCE UPDATE We are coming to the end of year again and while we can receive monies into the Church accounts up to 31 December, the last Sunday on which there will be a weekly collection will be Sunday 25 December. We do not normally have a collection at the Christmas morning service but there will be a collection this year for anyone who wants to contribute to the Church before year end. If you do not normally attend the Christmas morning service then the last Sunday on which you will be able to make a contribution for 2016 will be Sunday 18 December. Can Treasurers of organisations please note that any donations to the Church for heat, light, minibus etc for 2016 should be submitted as soon as possible. Organisation accounts should be submitted to the Church Office by Friday 16 December and we can agree any small adjustments for bank charges or interest that may be required when bank statements are available as at 31 December. We would like bank statements by 3 January as our external audit is scheduled for 18 and 19 January. WHITE RIBBON CAMPAIGN UK is part of a global movement to put a stop to male violence against women and girls.
