3 ANNOUNCEMENTS Budget 2019 will be coming up soon. All chair people for each ministry should have received a paper in their mail slot. Please return the paper to me by SEPTEMBER 23. TODAY! Thanks Wilma Joustra ALL CHILDREN'S SUNDAY PROGRAMMING HAS STARTED: 0-2 nursery (right off foyer) 3-5 Children and worship (North east end of the church) 6-9 Kidzone (media room) Junior Catechism (classroom beside media room) Senior Catechism (cadet room- North west end of the church) Grade 9 and up Youth Group on Wednesday evenings Catechism on Tuesday evenings is now officially STOPPED. We are now incorporating the Heidelberg Catechism right into our Sunday programming starting at the age of six in Kidzone already. It will be introduced simply at the younger levels and incorporated into their lessons. Kidzone will have a different format this year. Children will be in small groups going on a rotation to different stations. Nursery News: The updated nursery schedule for Oct-Jan is now in everyone s mail slots. Please note the date(s) you are in the nursery, and please swap with someone if you cannot make your turn. In keeping with the Safe Church Policy, we are asking everyone 16yrs and older to complete a police check and hand it into Nancy. She has a letter that you can take to the police station and it is done on the spot for free. Thank you to everyone who is serving the Lord in this way. Chewing Gum: We have found some chewing gum a few times on the toys in the nursery. Please can everyone keep gum out of the nursery area. We would like to keep the area clean and safe for the babies and toddlers who use the space every Sunday. Thank you. Praise Team/Media Team/Audio Team Appreciation Evening: All members of these teams please save Sunday, Nov 4 th at 6:30 pm, for an evening of appreciation and fellowship and desserts. Since it is often difficult to get everyone together during the week we thought we would try a Sunday evening. This evening is also an opportunity to engage in some discussion and to give everyone a chance to share ideas regarding our worship services and to let the worship ministry know if more training is needed in any area. More information to follow. Soulfire Youth is looking for leaders!! Working with our youth is rewarding, challenging, fun, entertaining, some times loud, some times quiet but VERY VERY much worth it!!!!!! We are blessed with great youth in this church and lots of them! Lorie, Pam and Steve and Tim are looking for 2 new leaders to join them in leading and hanging with this awesome group of youth. We are looking for preferably 1 male and 1 female leader to join us. We will also be looking for parents of youth to assist with some of the bigger events this year (like the Fall Retreat, Fresh Wind, AOYC etc.) We ask that you prayerfully consider whether God is prompting you to assist in this ministry. 4 Get ready... GEMS is starting up again on Tuesday evening, September 25 th! GEMS (Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior) is a group for girls ages 9-13 (born in ). At GEMS we aim to build our relationship with Jesus through devotions, crafts, activities, service projects, games AND friendships with other girls. This year our theme is In His Steps. We will continue to meet on Tuesday evenings from 7-8:30pm, here at the church. Our first evening will be an ice cream social! So, bring your mom or dad out on Tuesday, September 26 th at 7pm and enjoy an evening of yummy treats & fun games to kick-off our year together. The cost for GEMS is $40.00 per girl or $70.00 per family. Your counselors are very much looking forward to seeing all you girls again and getting to know our newcomers! If you have any questions or are looking for a little more information about GEMS, please call Counselor Heidi at (613) or at heidi.blokland@tcswilliamsburg.ca. We are excited about our Cadet Program this year. Regular meetings begin Tuesday, September 25 from 7:00-8:30 pm. at church. This program engages boys in Bible studies, badge work/projects, games and outdoor recreation/sports activities while strengthening their relationships with Christ and preparing them to be future church leaders. Our theme this year is Be a Blessing based on 2 Corinthians 9:8 - And God is able to bless you abundantly so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. Registration cost for program is $40/boy, $70/family. We hope all boys between the ages of 9-13 ( ) will join us at cadets and we encourage them to bring a friend or neighbour. For more information about the Cadet program contact Calvin Dentz at Coffee Break: start up date is Thursday October 11 (at 10am in media room at church ) - 12pm! We do all different kinds of studies through out the year. First we will be starting with just simply receiving and studying the love of God, with the study I am Loved by Wendy Blight, along with Tell Them I love them: receiving a revelation of Gods love for you by Joyce Meyers, and The Fathers love Letter By Barry Adams. TCS Apple Pies: It's the time of year again to order your delicious apple pies in time for Thanksgiving. Regular pies or pies with Splenda are $9 each. We are in need of more apple pie volunteers! Please consider joining us at the Williamsburg CRC at 8:30 am this Tuesday and Thursday. There is no experience necessary and it always proves to be a great time of fellowship and community building. Gloves, hair-nets, snacks and a soup lunch are provided! We hope to make pies every Tuesday and Thursday between now and Thanksgiving. Please check for updates on facebook in case there are any changes. We are also in need of a good working, fullsized chest freezer. If anyone can help with that, please let the school know. For orders, please contact Zwany Havenaar , Juanita Hawkins , Debra Vuyk , Karla Pool or the school Pies can be picked up at the church on any of the pie making days. 5 Hockey: Fall is almost here and so are some of the most beautiful and gracious things about it. Hockey season. If you are interested and you are 15 years and older, we would love to have you come out on Saturday nights to join us in the Christian hockey league. You can call Rob Harbers , or Kevin DeJong , before September 23. Hosting Classis: We will be hosting classis here at our church on Oct th along with the Williamsburg CRC. We are looking for help with billeting delegates one or two nights and possibly providing transportation to and from the airport.
