We are privileged to celebrate the Lord's Supper as well. All professing members of our congregation and guests in good standing, after self-examination, are invited to participate in this meal. After the morning service everyone is welcome to stay for our annual fall BBQ/potluck lunch. Have a blessed day! Next Sunday Rev. Bernie Bakker will deliver God's Word to us. Child care provided for infants and toddlers during the morning worship service. Junior Sunday School for children born in 2013, 2014, 2015 Dismissed during the worship service. Prayer Ministry: Prayer requests for the congregational prayer can be passed on to the pastor through phone call, or text, as well as coming to the Council room just before the service. A prayer team continues to meet in the prayer room before the service. Unless otherwise noted, our songs are projected from Lift Up Your Hearts. Alliance of Chr. Schools $ Offering Schedule September 9 - Redemeer Christian High School Transportation There has been a significant increase in the transportation cost for busing from Winchester. In order to offset these costs for the families using this service, Redeemer has requested that the funds collected go towards the cost of transportation. September 23 - Safe Church Ministry a division of the Christian Reformed Church in North America, is a resource for churches in abuse awareness prevention and response. They help churches to understand and prevent abuse, and where abuse has occurred, to respond with compassion and justice that promotes healing. September 30 - Harvest House - Harvest House s mission is to rehabilitate young men who are chemically dependent, to instill in them self-discipline, and to reintegrate them into society by an inner change brought about by faith in Jesus Christ. Holthof to serve our congregation again this fall and winter. This past week we received a disappointing reply from him. He said, "After much prayer, thought, and consideration and discussion with my wife Tena, I have to tell you that I have decided to go and help the church in Trenton beginning in mid-october." Council is already in the process of looking for another pastor to serve our congregation in the short term while the Search Committee looks for a pastor to serve long term. Budget 2019: Yes, it's time to start thinking about the budget for Any or all committees with budgets, please submit your required budgets to the treasurer via or in writing before Sept 15. 6 page 5 Williamsburg Christian Reformed Church September 9, 2018 Beginning a New Season of Learning Sunday Evening Bible Study - Angels and Demons Starting Sept 16th we will be spending 8 evenings discussing the topic of Angels & Demons. There's a lot of misunderstanding about these beings in our society and in the church. Using a video series by the late scholar R.C. Sproul, we'll take a closer look at what the Bible says and what that means for our lives today. These discussions go from 7-8pm and always include refreshments. All ages are welcome. Talk to Pastor Joe if you have any questions. JR. SUNDAY SCHOOL - September 9 for children born in 2013, 2014 and Dismissed during the worship service. TOT'S AND TEA - Wednesday morning, September 12th SR. SUNDAY SCHOOL, CATECHISM - September 16 For grades 1-12 following the morning worship service. YOUTH GROUP - September 19 - for High School Students GEMS - September 24 7pm We would like to invite all girls from grade 4 to grade 8 to join us at GEMS for fun and fellowship. This is a weekly meeting from 7-8:30pm where we begin with a time of devotions and singing, then have a lesson, badge, or craft, and finish the evening with snack. Special events include: theme badge, grandmothers' tea, pajama and movie night, and skating. We hope to see many of you there! Join us for an evening of worship and a message from God s word aimed at helping us navigate this life, one step at a time, according to the guidance we are given in the Bible.
