By contacting the pastor, your elder or deacons and/or Care Circle representative with items of celebrations and need for prayer, we can share God s love for each other. Our Church Family: Bert Mudde who was transferred to the Kingston Hospital this past week. We pray the doctors are able to find what is causing Bert to be so sick. ~thankful that Corrie Dentz was able to come home from the hospital this past week. She is home resting and recuperating and waiting on more tests. ~Let s remember to pray for those family members, loved ones, grandchildren who were baptized but don t believe anymore or who have left the church or who have never known God as their Lord and Saviour. Please remember to pray for these loved ones daily. Thank you! to everyone who supplied desserts and goodies for the praise teams and audio & media teams for the appreciation evening held two weeks ago. They were enjoyed very much by everyone! 3 ANNOUNCEMENTS Police Checks: Just a reminder that ALL police checks are to be done and returned to Nancy in the church office before Dec. 31st. The ones requiring a check had a letter put in their mail slot. If you misplaced your letter or need a new one printed up, let Nancy know and she will print a new one up for you. Remember to bring TWO pieces of ID with you. Drivers license, passport or birth certificate. SIN cards, health cards and visa/master cards will not work. Once you have the police checks done, please give this to Nancy to be kept on file. Thanks. Potluck: Next week Sunday will be Potluck Sunday. Bring along your favorite dish to enjoy. Join us after church for some great food and fellowship. Ministry to Seafarers Christmas Parcel Drive 2018: We have the privilege to give a gift to Seafarers who arrive in the Port of Montreal during the month of December. 90% of all we own comes to us via the sea. Seafarers who spend Christmas on the job and way from their families deeply appreciate receiving a Christmas parcel when they arrive in the Port of Montreal. Last week the deacons passed out slips of paper with items on it that can be used in the seafarer s parcels. If you need one yet, ask Nancy for one. We ask that you please being these items back to the church on or before Sunday Nov. 25 th. After this time the deacons will put together the parcels and then they will be delivered to Montreal. We could also use shoe boxes to pack the parcels in, so it you have any extra around your home, please bring them in. May you experience the joy of giving. Teen Challenge: Next week Stephen Prendergast from Teen Challenge will be visiting with us to share about the ministry of Teen Challenge and about the opening of the Ottawa Valley Men s Centre. Teen Challenge ( is a faith based, in residence, drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility for men and women 18 years and older. At centers located in Alberta, Atlantic Canada, Saskatchewan and Ontario, we provide a Christ-centered program enabling men and women to rebuild their lives on a healthy foundation. After the service Stephen will have a table set up with some more material about Teen Challenge and an opportunity to support this ministry with a free will offering. All Youth grades six and up are invited to come out to a fun multi youth group event on Friday November the 23 rd from 7-9:30pm at Morrisburg Pentecostal Tabernacle. Cost is $5/person. The evening will include games, music, pizza, prizes and more! Next Week Sunday s Offering is for Family Assistance Christian Education, F.A.C.E. The money collected from this offering will go directly towards assisting families in our church who need help with Timothy Christian School tuition.

4 Joint Refugee Sponsorship Update, October 25, 2018 The sponsorship committee met at Immanuel CRC in Cornwall to discuss ongoing support for the Masumbuko family. The sponsorship is at its halfway point and the family is settling very well into the community. Ramazan has a full time temporary job and hoped to get an extension. He is also looking into furthering his education. Ramazan is also taking driving lessons. Hasha is loving ESL school. She and Sana Bya travel together to school on the city bus. Baby Rhamine goes to day care at the school also. Ziada celebrated her 11 th birthday last week. She enjoys school and is receiving tutorial help from a retired teacher on a volunteer basis twice a week. She would benefit from additional tutorial help from an interested volunteer who would work with our professional teacher. Ramin is a bundle of energy and is picking up English rapidly. He loves to give big hugs. Everyone is in good health and is receiving medical attention as needed. Our treasurer reported that we are on track financially and will be able to see the family through the end of the sponsorship period. Additional donations are always welcome and will be put to good use to the support refugees. The family attends services at Immanuel CRC weekly and is a blessing to the congregation. Our committee is working well together; very enthusiastic and focused on settling the family for independent living in our community. We thank God for His faithfulness and for blessing our endeavors. Redeemer Christian High School: If you want to know more about our Christian high school, consider coming to our next Open House and Information Night on Wednesday, November 21 at 7 p.m. and explore our website at rchs.on.ca. TCS Membership Meeting: Our fall membership meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 21 at 7:30pm at the school. Please plan on joining us for this important meeting. If you are interested in becoming a member of the TCS Society, please contact the school office. Seniors Christmas Concert: Join us on Saturday Nov. 24 th at 2pm at the Matilda Hall, Dixon s Comers for a Christmas Concert. Doors open at 1:30pm. The Morrisburg & District Lions Club and the Iroquois-Matilda Lions Club invite you to a free fun-filled afternoon of entertainment and refreshments. There is pick up available from Iroquois and Morrisburg. To see the times and pick up location, see the poster hanging on the bulletin board. In Dulci Jubilo ~ A Concert of Christmas Music: by the Seaway Valley Singers will be held on Sunday December 2 nd at 3pm at the Iroquois United Church. Tickets are available from Brian & Lis Vandenberg, Rhonda Schneckenburger or Fred Zandbergen. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door, $10 for students and under 12 are free. We hope to have you join us. Iroquois Diners Club: Come join us at the Iroquois Legion on December 6 for our Christmas Dinner. We will have the "Coppertones" providing musical entertainment. Come join us for a good turkey dinner and entertainment. Cost is $8.00 for Seniors and $9 for non-seniors. Please call the J.W. MacIntosh SSC by Dec. 3 to reserve your seat. Youth Ministry Coordinator: Kemptville CRC (KCRC) is seeking a 20 hr/wk Youth Ministry Coordinator (YMC).KCRC is a small inter-generational family of believers located in a growing

5 community south of Canada's national capital. We are a church for imperfect pe4ople, so no perfect candidates need apply. Check out our website at kcrc.ca The successful candidate gives evidence of a deep love for Christ and his people; possesses excellent relational skills for working with children, youth and young adults; can successfully lead and motivate ministry leaders, volunteers and congregational participants. KCRC's YMC will walk alongside children, youth and young adults while praying, listening and helping them in their faith journey. This person will be an advocate for youth to council and the congregation. The YMC will recruit, train, encourage and support lay people and youth in the various youth-related volunteer ministries within the congregation. The YMC will advise, encourage and support the Discipleship Ministry Team in their development, planning and facilitation of it's various ministries. The candidate will have a degree or it's equivalent in a related field, or willingness to pursue such. This position has a flexible schedule and offers competitive pay.
