4 Becoming a Catholic (RCIA) What s Happening at OLOS OLOS Staff Needed As you may or not be aware, the OLOS staff is in need of three new members- Music Director, Director of Faith Formation, and Maintenance Coordinator. We are working on posting these positions and hopefully filling them as soon as possible. If you know of anyone who may be interested in these positions, please ask them to go to the OLOS website for full job description. Please pray for the hiring committees and staff as we work through interviewing and hiring new members. ECO-TIP OF THE WEEK: Cover the pool!! Do you own a swimming pool? Cover it with a pool cover or tarp when it is not in use in order to prevent the summer heat from evaporating all of the water and pool chemicals into the atmosphere. There she witnessed thousands of abortions, doing everything from making appointments to assisting in the procedure rooms. As the students grappled with the notion of material wealth and its importance to a sense of accomplishment, one girl recalled a conversation she had with her friend as they browsed through the flea market at the parish summer festival. As they looked at all the items for sale, her friend remarked, Imagine! All this meant something to someone a long time ago. Now it s all junk! Jesus tells the parable of the rich man who places his trust in his material wealth. But His disciples must place their hope and treasure, their value and worth in the Lord. It is not worth the effort to focus time, energy and attention on things that will not last, if we lose the chance to build wealth that lasts forever. Material things are important, but not at the cost of our values, morals and ideals. As the popular proverb says, you can t take it with you! Focus on your spiritual investments and possessions. Make a little time for prayer. Volunteer for service to others. Make it a habit to give to the food bank, or other group in your parish that helps the needy. Use your rosary. Attend Mass on vacation.
