3 Announcements For Our Church Family TODAY, Pastor Ed Gilbert will be leading both our Morning and Evening worship services. We are so excited to have him with us then! Fellowship Committee will be meeting TODAY at 2:00 pm at church in the Fellowship Hall. Needed for the Ladies Tea, several food-grade Silver Teapots, let Jennifer Van Houten or Michele Kuperus know if you have any and wouldn t mind loaning them to us for this exciting event. March/April Today s are available on the fellowship hall table. Feel free to take a copy! Think Spring Potluck!!! Please join us TODAY at Noon for great food and fellowship! Fellowship Committee will provide Sloppy Joes with buns and beverages. We will have disposable tableware available, unless you would like to bring dishes from home. Please bring a dish to pass from your suggested group: A-Koe = Chips/Fruits/Veggies, Kort-Plug = Salads, Pr -Z = Desserts; Something that you would bring to a Spring barbecue! Come join with us as we celebrate spring amidst the blizzard conditions! See you there! Children and Worship meets TODAY! All children ages 3-6 are welcome to come down during the service today. After the service, please pick your child up in classroom #1. Sunday School meets TODAY! We invite all 4 years olds through high school students to join us. The Lucas/McBain Cadet Club will be meeting this Wednesday, March 16 th, at 6:30 pm at Church. Ladies Aid will be meeting on Wednesday, March 16 th at 1:30 pm at church. We will be going over lesson #8. Easter Flowers: Would you like to donate a Spring flower for Easter Sunday in memory of a loved one? It is a wonderful way to make our church look beautiful!!! Non-memorial donations are welcome as well. Please have the flowers to church by Friday, March 25 th at 8:00 pm. Safe Church News: There will be a Safe Church Training for all of those who help out with activities involving children at Lucas CRC, on these dates (April 12, 13, 14, 18, & 19); in the Sanctuary to briefly go over the new Safe Church Policy approved by Council in January of this year. Our Life Group has completed a DVD series entitled The Jesus I Never Knew by Philip Yancey. If another Life Group would like to borrow it, please contact me Rog Hoeksema. The Music & Worship Committee would like to consider some different Bulletin Layouts to see what works best, saves the most paper, easily communicates the appropriate information, and looks attractive! We will be trying some new formats and layouts over the upcoming weeks and we would love to have your feedback on what works and what doesn t work. Contact Pastor Todd or Jennifer Van Houten to share your thoughts and comments. In an effort to communicate information to the congregation more quickly and efficiently we would like to set up an group to receive announcements. We also want to make sure that the Prayer Chain is reserved for prayer items, so these will be two separate groups that you can opt into. There is a Survey in your church mailboxes with which you can select if you would like to be part of one or both of these groups; or send an to Jennifer Van Houten at secretary@lucascrc.com and let her know which group you would like to be included in!

4 You will find a Musical Gifts Survey in your boxes and on the Fellowship Hall table this morning. The Music & Worship Committee would appreciate it if everyone 13 and older would fill out the survey and return it no later than TODAY. We know there are many and varied gifts present in every generation in our congregation, and we're seeking to provide opportunities for you to use those gifts in ways that glorify God and edify the church. A Tenebrae service will be a great opportunity to show them the love of Jesus and the sacrifice He made for us. Childcare is provided. The AMEN Chorus will present Crown Him Lord of All Concert on Sunday, March 13 th at 2:00 p.m. at the Rehoboth Reformed Church in Lucas. The AMEN Chorus is directed by Harvey Lucas and accompanied by Sandy Bode. Admission to the concert is free. A free will offering will be received. All are invited to attend and join us afterwards for refreshments and fellowship. More information is at Northern Michigan Christian School has an Arrowsmith classroom dedicated to dealing with the root causes of learning disabilities in children and adults. Applying the science of neuroplasticity, the Arrowsmith Program helps students strengthen the weak cognitive capacities underlying their learning dysfunctions and enables them to become effective, confident and selfdirected learners for life. To explore this program and discover the hope it offers to students with learning disabilities, we invite you to attend an open house on Thursday, March 17 th from 5:00 pm 8:00 pm in the Arrowsmith Classroom. INTERNATIONAL STUDENT HOST FAMLIES Northern Michigan Christian School is already receiving requests from international student agencies wanting to place international students for the school year. This is an excellent opportunity for you to invite a young person from another country into your home, show them Christian hospitality, and have them experience American culture. So many wonderful experiences and opportunities can come about by hosting a student. 5 Is God Tapping You for Full or Part-time Ministry? All of God's people are called to serve Him in the world. But, if you are interested in pursuing ministry in a formal way in an established church ministry position, we, the churches of Classis Northern Michigan, invite you to contact the Classis Candidacy Committee. Our committee exists to encourage and financially support people who feel called into formal ministry and who would like to seek further education for it. Please contact Rev. It will be one of our largest groups going ever! As a group, during our evening devotion time we will be studying crazy love by Francis Chan. Please pray for God's Spirit to work in the lives of this group. Pray for safe traveling, for safety on the job sites, and for getting along as a group for a week for our trip from April 1 9. We have 3 roof jobs and other jobs yet to be determined.
