5 THE GOOD NEWS ABOUT SMALL GROUPS! In an effort to better understand the needs and interests of our congregation, the Christian Formation Commission asks all adult members to participate in this brief survey concerning small groups. Please read this side, and then answer the questions on the back. We appreciate your open and honest responses! FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT SMALL GROUPS: 1. What would be required of me if I join a small group? Nothing except showing up! We wish to be sensitive to the comfort levels of each participant. You determine your level of involvement! 2. Exactly what do we do in a small group? Small groups build Christian friendships through informal fellowship, Bible study, prayer, and mutual care. Some focus more on detailed Bible study, while others are more conversational in nature. Most meet on a weekly basis for approximately one hour. 3. Do I have to be knowledgeable about the Bible? No. Small groups are for people at all stages of spiritual growth to come together and mutually encourage each other! 4. How long do most small groups last? Some small groups stay together for years and build close friendships. Some meet only during the school year, and some only for one specific time period. 5. What is the average number of people in a small group? Small groups generally consist of 6-12 people. 6. What if I decide to leave my small group? Our life situations often change, and our time commitments must change with them. There are many good reasons why you may decide to stop attending a small group. If you decide to leave, we encourage you to discuss it openly with your group and allow them to bless you and affirm your value to them. 7. Who do I talk to about joining a small group? See Pastor Becky, Pastor Jeff, or Teresa Krieger (CF Chair) THE GOOD NEWS ABOUT SMALL GROUPS!
