6 We Welcome Dr. Calvin Taylor to Northbrook today. Dr. Taylor has prepared a unique forty-five minute Sermon-in-Songs worship format featuring scripture followed by musical selections which have been presented in hundreds of America's churches. Included are piano solos and congregational singing based on the scripture readings. Dr. Taylor s list of credentials and achievements is extensive. From knowing him personally, I can tell you he is an outstanding musician, a wonderfully warm human being and a devoted Christian. If you are interested in learning more about Dr. Taylor, you can do so by exploring his His music ministry is completely funded by the generous contributions of those in worship. A separate free will offering will be collected for this purpose during his presentation. Let s give Dr. Taylor a very warm, generous welcome to Northbrook! FLU SHOTS. We are offering flu shots today from 9:00 a.m. 12:00 p.m. at Northbrook for anyone 6 months of age and older. There will be flu mist available also. We can submit it to your insurance or you can pay with cash or check. Adult FOCUS. Paulette Lein has graciously volunteered to lead a book discussion on an amazing and well-reviewed book by Isabel Wilkerson entitled The Warmth of Other Suns. This non-fiction tome is about three young people from the deep south who moved north/west to begin life anew during The Great Migration which lasted from 1915 to 1970, involved six million people and was one of the largest internal migrations in U.S. history. It changed our country. Wilkerson spent 15 years researching and writing this book. This is a most interesting, in-depth coverage of that time span in our nation s history. Join us for a time of fellowship over lunch. Bring your own sandwich and the Adult Education Committee will supply dessert and beverages. We will be meet on October 15 at 11:30 a.m. in the Library. This is a very important book to share and enriching to the human spirit! As always, please bring your friends. Contact Seglinda Pritchard with any of your questions.
