1 H I G H N OT E S everyone is Monthly Newsletter of High Street UMC where Welcome Holy Week Invitation from the Pastor April-Happy Easter This season in preparation for Easter we have been focusing our attention at worship on Baggage, unpacking the negative and stuffing our bags with positive resources for our journey of faith. Our backpack has been filled with faith, hope, love, and an understanding of the Scriptures to help us resist temptation. We worked out with Jesus to gain strength physically and spiritually for the challenges of worldly life. Through Christ s forgiveness we washed our dirty laundry and like the Woman at the Well shared the good news of our pardon and new beginning with our neighbors. We rose up with Lazarus through the healing call of Jesus and we plan to celebrate with the Jerusalem crowd a Palms Waving Parade for Jesus coming into our hearts. During Holy Week we remember the Passion of Christ and join together on Easter Sunday to share Christ s Resurrection Victory for us all. During Holy Week we will celebrate Palm Sunday March 25 with family and youth worship at 9:30am and 11:00am. Maunday Thursday we will share Christ s Last Supper at 7:00pm with Holy Communion, and on Good Friday we will join a sister church Christ Episcopal for a Passion Service of Hymns and Readings at 7:00pm. We have planned wonderful music for our Easter Resurrection Services, April 1st at 9:30and 11:00am. Don t forget we have a Community Fish Fry Saturday, April 21st, from 4 to 7pm, a Youth Leader and Group Training Event Saturday, April 28 and a Family and Friends Combined Youth Worship Service, April 29th at 10:30am with fellowship immediately after. We have some wonderful worship and fellowship planned for the next two months. Please come join us and bring your friends!
