Most of the ease of the transition is the result of a lot of preparation and the wonderful spirit of our congregation. We are continuing to find ways to help individuals get around the campus on Sunday mornings, during this period of construction. Our transportation committee has been at work monitoring our parking and the use of the van for transportation on Sunday mornings, as well. Below you will find a note from our chairperson Mr. Mark Munday. I want to thank Mark and all those who have volunteered to drive each Sunday morning. Sunday Morning Van Assistance It is amazing to see how you have pulled together to support each other and the life of our congregation during our time of transition - truly worshipping God. While this is a time of inconvenience, you are showing grace to each other and our visitors. Thank you to all who have moved class rooms to allow others to be closer to the worship services in the ROC. Thank you to all who are parking off campus and/ or carpooling together. While we have arranged Sunday School classes to place many in Building E near the ROC, we continue to struggle with the distances some of our congregation with medical or ambulatory issues must traverse between the ROC and Sunday School in Buildings A or B. Given our limited resources and options, we believe the best way to address this concern is to provide additional parking for these individuals near the ROC (instead of parking at Buildings A & B) and use a van to transport them to and from Sunday School in Buildings A and B. Each Sunday, a van is currently running from the ROC to Buildings A & B from 9:30am to 9:45am and from Building A & B to the ROC from 10:40am to 10:55am. Unfortunately, there is only a limited number of circuits a van can make in the time available, requiring priority for those with medical or ambulatory issues that would make physically walking the distance very difficult or impossible. We will continue to monitor the situation and listen to issues and suggestions. Mark Munday, Transportation Com. Chair

3 Deacon of the Week Stephanie Treadway has been a member of Trinity since 1963 and is a native of Raleigh. She has three children: Sean, Allison, Maura and three grandchildren: Brittany, Tyler, and Christina. She is a retired Program Administrator with the NC Department of Correction and Executive Director of Redirection (Non-Profit). She serves on the JFL Lead Team, and Mission Steering Committee. She also serves as Extended Care Vounteer and ROC Volunteer. Stephanie works with the Adult Coed 1/Ladies 1 Sunday School class. She also works with deacon Jenny Wilson. The NCMO supports NC Baptist Men s Disaster Relief, Medical/Dental Bus that Trinity is a part of. Support for National and International Partnerships that make it possible for us to go into these areas as missionaries carrying the message and love of our Lord, Jesus Christ. The NCMO is the major funding source for the ministries of the NC Baptist Men. You will find in your offering packet, the blue envelope for State and Local Missions. As you place your offering in the envelope, do so with prayer for those serving in these missions and for those that are being ministered to. You, too, can PREPARE THE WAY for someone to seek God in their lives. 6 Rev. Steve Byers, Music Notes Special thanks to Maury Tepper for supplying special music this past Sunday in worship. Each Sunday has proven to be another wonderful experience in worship for us in the ROC. We owe a great deal of thanks to our sound and video teams for coordinating the sound and technical aspects of worship. They work really hard and will continue to do so during the transitional period. Take a moment to let them know how much you appreciate their service! s s s The Student Choir trip to King s Dominion has been cancelled due to a lack of interest and sign-up. We will shoot for another chance in the spring. s s s Speaking of the Student Choir, I have been blessed by their attendance and great singing! Thank you parents and students for making this a great start to our choir year. We have wonderful leaders helping this year as well. The choir will be singing soon in worship, and remember, attendance is important for participation in the Hanging of the Greens on November 27. You will continue to be updated about those dates as we get closer to Advent. It will be here quickly! Join Us If you have singing or instrumental abilities, we need you. HS SUNDAY PARKING As we prepare for our exciting new building project, we are hoping to ease our parking woes in a couple of ways. What we are asking for our high school students who happen to drive separately from their parents is this: 1) Ride with your parents in ONE CAR. 2) Park on the back property behind the ROC on Manchester. This is one simple way that we can be a part of helping our church as we seek to make room for others! October Cost: $115 Registration Due: October 2 This retreat is open to both HS and MS School students. It will be a weekend filled with worship, games, rest, and time spent together. 8 Rev. Karen Metcalf Eickhoff, Kid s Camp was September at Camp Willow Run on Lake Gaston. We had a great time. Many thanks to David Ayscue and Katie Medlin for helping chaperone this event. We learned how to be rooted in God through Prayer, Bible Study and Worship. Thank you Trinity for allowing our kids to experience God through camp! 9 You are doing something really, really important. I know it s not easy. I see you with your arms overflowing, and I know you came to church already tired. Parenting is tiring. Really tiring. I watch you bounce and sway trying to keep the baby quiet, juggling the infant car seat and the diaper bag as you find a seat. I see you wince as your child cries. I see you anxiously pull things out of your bag of tricks to try to quiet them. And I see you with your toddler and your preschooler. I watch you cringe when your little girl asks an innocent question in a voice that might not be an inside voice let alone a church whisper. I hear the exasperation in your voice as you beg your child to just sit, to be quiet as you feel everyone s eyes on you. Not everyone is looking, but I know it feels that way. I know you re wondering, is this worth it? Why do I bother? I know you often leave church more exhausted than fulfilled. But what you are doing is so important.when you are here, the church is filled with a joyful noise. When you are here, the Body of Christ is more fully present. When you are here, we are reminded that this worship thing we do isn t about bible study or personal, quiet contemplation but coming together to worship as a community where all are welcome, where we share in Katie Medlin, kmedlin@tbcraleigh.com Dear Parents with Young Children in Church Parents: Please remember to fill out a child information sheet!
