1 Centennial Celebration It is a new year! You may find yourselves with wonderful opportunities to start again fresh every year but this year is even more unique Dr. Robert J. They wanted to affiliate with a movement of Christians that had a focus on coming to Christ, living in the power of the Holy Spirit, and making a commitment to a unity of believers. This new movement, called the Church of God had no formal membership but believed that you were born into the church through new birth in Christ. They were convinced that only God could wash away our sins and that became our early motto, We reach our hand in fellowship to every blood-washed one. Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know. (Jeremiah 33:3) They cried out to God and those early Christians began meeting together. They gained a vision of what God could do through a faithful people. So, it is no surprise that God did perform a mighty work and 100 years later a thriving congregation exists here in Decatur. Throughout 2008 we will have multiple times of remembering and celebration. In a way it is a twelve-month party. It really is a year of jubilee! Party For The Lord, Dr. Robert Brink

Church Cancellations! On Wednesdays...if the local school systems cancel because of bad weather, our church will be closed. On Sunday mornings, we will be open unless we are under a Code Red. In that case, we will cancel. Sunday evenings will be determined and announced on Sunday mornings by the Senior Pastor using current and projected weather conditions.

3 MISSIONARY OF THE MONTH ROB & JOANNE BRANNON - UTAH News Flash! Rocky Mountain Bible Church Finds a Home! Well Praise the Lord! Jehovah provides! After many, many long and arduous months of searching for a 24/7 rent facility for Rocky Mountain Bible Church, the Lord has come though! Our small group of 20 believers just signed a one-and-a-half-year lease for the use of a chapel and pastor s office on the first floor of a building on Main Street. The Roundup now has its Corral! Thanks for praying! Straight Talk about Utah... Utah is like the cobbler s son who had no shoes! Utah (the cobbler s shoeless son) is an amazingly unreached corner of God s harvest field located right in the living room of the powerful American church (the cobbler). Almost all of our churches here in Utah are very small with very limited financial resources. Add to this the religious context in Utah, plus the fact that Utah is not a physical third world region, and you have a recipe for shoeless feet! As a former missionary to Africa, I could show you pictures of African kids who literally have no shoes. Now as a missionary to Utah, I want to present to you the reality of a spiritual third world - in other words, the reality of the existence of the cobbler s son to the west of you. I am praying for the Lord to continue to raise up more partners in the Roundup so that the job can be done as the King would have it. Thanks for your prayers and support. Rob and Joanne Brannon Rocky Mountain Church Northern Utah CENTENNIAL NEWS 2008 will bring a year of celebrations to commemorate our 100th year! You won't want to miss any of the special services your committee has planned. January 27, 2008, will be the first event to kick off our Centennial year. We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Arlo Newell will be preaching. This Godly man is a giant in the Church of God movement. Several years ago, we were blessed to have him serve as our interim pastor. On January 27th, we are planning to have one service at 9:30 am (no Sunday School) followed by an All Church Sunday Brunch. Also on January 27th, there will be a drama presentation to give you some insight into the early beginnings of our church. 5 IN APPRECIATION Thank you for your prayers and thoughtfulness following my surgery. It means so much. Thank you also for the beautiful vibrant red poinsettia. The Centennial Committee is working on putting pictures on CD for the celebration later next year. Eric explained the basic recommendation for Church Safety & Security. Page one was the rationale and page two is the team constitution and example of the emergency contacts. We (the Elders) wanted to take this time to voice our appreciation to Eric Taylor & John Pennell for giving of their time and for their service on the Elder s Board.
