2 Nineteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time, August 12, 2018 To strengthen him for the journey, God provides Elijah with cake and water, reminiscent of his ancestors Pasch. Thus he experiences the goodness of the Lord. Jesus, the bread of life, strengthens us for our journey, following his way of love. Welcome! Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary This year the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is on Wednesday, August 15 th. It is a Holy Day of Obligation. The holy day Masses will be celebrated on Tuesday, Vigil Mass at 5:30 pm Wednesday at 6:30 am, 8:30 am, 12:15 pm and 5:30 pm. Are you or do you know someone who is interested in becoming Roman Catholic? We will begin our sessions on Thursday, August 16 th at 6:30 pm in the Holy Family Parish Center, classroom #1.

3 The Adult Formation Bible Studies listed below are being offered to all parishioners. Information can be obtained and registration taken by calling the Religious Education Department in the Holy Family Parish Center at (928) or by stopping in. Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible This eight-week study will help you make sense of the Bible and to see how it relates to your everyday life. Discover the remarkable connection between the Old and New Testaments, and see how the sacraments, the Church, and our entire Catholic Faith are rooted in Scripture. We begin on Thursday, August 16 th at 9:30 am in the John Paul II house. The cost per person is $20. The Bible Timeline This study is focused around the Story of Salvation that has helped hundreds of thousands of people just like you learn how to read and understand the Bible from a Catholic perspective. This study features 23 lessons plus an introduction, walking you through the entire story of the Bible, from the creation of the world through the establishment of the Catholic Church. This study will begin Wednesday, September 5 th at 9:30 am in the John Paul II house. This study will also be done at a slower pace. The cost per person is $35. Revelation: The Kingdom Yet to Come It is an intriguing study that shows how the kingdom established by Christ in his Church is intimately connected with the kingdom of heaven. Here you will discover what the mysterious figures and images of Revelation mean. You will see how Revelation is more than an apocalyptic vision of the "end times." It is a revelation of God as our Divine Bridegroom and the Church as his spotless Bride, forever united in a heavenly, holy, and mystical marriage that we enter into every time we celebrate the Mass. This bible study will be offered both on Monday mornings at 9:30 am, beginning Monday, September 10 th at 9:30 am and Tuesday evenings beginning Tuesday, September 11 th, at 6:30 pm in the John Paul II house.
