2 Twentieth Sunday in Ordinary Time, August 19, 2018 Wisdom has prepared a banquet of food and wine, an image expressive of God s communion with us. For those who desire life, Jesus gives his own flesh and blood. Thus we shall be filled with the Spirit. Welcome! You enter this Church not as a stranger, but as a guest of God. As a baptized person, you enter it as a son or daughter of the Father in Christ. This House of God, therefore, is your family home. Come in then with humility of mind, joy of heart and thanks on your lips. Come in and pause in prayer in the midst of your busy life and its many worries. Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School Our Preschool, Kindergarten and 1 st Grade are off to a fantastic start to our academic school year ! 3 The Adult Formation Bible Studies listed below are being offered to all parishioners. Information can be obtained and registration taken by calling the Religious Education Department in the Holy Family Parish Center at (928) or by stopping in. The Bible Timeline This study is focused around the Story of Salvation that has helped hundreds of thousands of people just like you learn how to read and understand the Bible from a Catholic perspective. This study features 23 lessons plus an introduction, walking you through the entire story of the Bible, from the creation of the world through the establishment of the Catholic Church. This study will begin Wednesday, September 5 th at 9:30 am in the John Paul II house. This study will also be done at a slower pace. The cost per person is $35. Revelation: The Kingdom Yet to Come It is an intriguing study that shows how the kingdom established by Christ in his Church is intimately connected with the kingdom of heaven. Here you will discover what the mysterious figures and images of Revelation mean. You will see how Revelation is more than an apocalyptic vision of the "end times." It is a revelation of God as our Divine Bridegroom and the Church as his spotless Bride, forever united in a heavenly, holy, and mystical marriage that we enter into every time we celebrate the Mass. This bible study will be offered both on Monday mornings at 9:30 am, beginning Monday, September 10 th and Tuesday evenings beginning Tuesday, September 11 th, at 6:30 pm in the John Paul II house. The cost per person is $20. Looking for Catechists Do you enjoy sharing your faith with others? Do you get excited seeing God work in other lives? Do you enjoy being around children? Are you asking God to help you see where He wants you? If you have answered, Yes to any of these questions you might be called to become a catechist.
