2 Page 2 From the Pastor s Desk by Fr. Owen Korte GRATITUDE: Our fields are looking so beautiful, you can hear the corn growing, and the baby calves are putting on weight. It is time to offer a quick prayer of thanks to almighty God. Nothing is perfect sometimes there is too much rain, the prices are never what they should be, but let s offer thanks to the Good Lord for He is a gracious and generous God. We can look around the world and see so much suffering especially where lawlessness is the norm, here we have such a strong faith which helps hold our families together, and we benefit from a community that works together for a common prosperity. It is a community that is always willing to extend a hand to those who are in need. As we approach our nation s birthday, take a moment to recall that we are truly blest. The Lord will always take care of a nation that abides by the values of life, liberty and the free pursuit of happiness. But, as one great patriotic hymn prays: God mend thine every flaw, let us pray that these values might not be stepped on by a culture that seems at times so selfish. Gratitude - appreciating that we are blest by so many who were/are so unselfish. MOVING CEDAR FORWARD: A CAMPAIGN TO PAY OFF THE REMODELING DEBT COMING SOON The Executive Committee or Steering Committee is now in the process of recruiting workers for the campaign. The silent phase of the campaign has begun. VERY IMPORTANT: AS WE NEAR THE END OF THE FISCAL YEAR: Your envelopes include a Year-End collection envelope. The money given to this does several things: If you need to make up for Sundays where you missed making an offertory gift... Year-End helps make it up Our budget is very tight and it will be even more tight next fiscal year. Your Year-End gift will help make sure we finish the year in the black and will give us a jump start on the next. Now we will take up a collection for this purpose. The Finance Committee and the tradition of the parish affirms that if we do not budget the putting aside of money into our savings account then even though we end the year breaking even...we are still in debt. We have budgeted $5000 to go into savings for this fiscal year. WE NEED TO HAVE A SUCCESSFUL YEAR END COLLECTION. THANK YOU FOR YOUR GIFTS. FAMILY FORMATION: Kindergarten and First Grade Teachers needed. We are getting ready for next year. Would you like to help by being a catechist. BAZAAR: Joseph s Parish in Constance, NE is hosting their annual supper and bazaar on Sunday, July 15th. Serving chicken, ham, potatoes and gravy, vegetable, homemade pies, plus salad bar, from 4-8 p.m. Adults: $10, 6-12 yrs: $5, 5yr & under: free. Bingo, kids games, quilt raffle, a large raffle with many prizes. A Prime Rib Dinner for 8, donated by Fr. Keiter, will be auctioned off at 8:15 p.m. Bring the whole family! Korte at HOLY TRINITY SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS: The Parish is in need of scholarship funds for families who are currently enrolled in the elementary school. These will be general scholarship funds that will be distributed upon completion of a need based application. The hours would be 4 days per week from 7 am to 1:30 pm. The position follows the school calendar, so all snow days and holidays are off. Please contact Donna Burbach at for more job details. A bequest of a part of your estate will help insure that the good works of our parish can continue. Contact your attorney to set that up - Holy Trinity Parish Endowment or Holy Trinity School Endowment. TOTUS TUUS 2018: Holy Family Parish will be hosting Totus Tuus at Immaculate Conception Parish Hall in Helena this summer. Totus Tuus (Totally Yours) is a summer catechetical youth program. For grade school children (grades 1-6), the program runs Monday-Friday, July 9-13, 9 am - 2:30 pm. For junior high and high school youth, the program runs Sunday -Thursday, July 8-12, 7-9 pm. PETER S PENCE COLLECTION: Today is Peter s Pence Collection, a worldwide collection that supports the charitable works of Pope Francis.
