Anyone can come and join in this prayer in the midst of our school for our students, faculty and for the success of all our school endeavors this year. This will begin on Thursday, Sept. 13. Students may come and make a visit during the hour so let the Holy Hour be one of silence.
2 Page 2 THE SECOND SESSION OF FAMILY FORMATION IS WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 3rd AT 6:15 PM. ESTATE PLANNING SEMINAR: Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 7:00 pm in the Heine Learning Center in the Msgr. Werner Activity Center. The best gift you can give your kids is to make sure your affairs are in order. And if you want to help the Church or our school when you are gone, this seminar will help you learn how to do that with the best tax breaks. We have worked hard to bring you some great advisors, people who have lots of experience in helping people plan their estates and/or make sound financial decisions. FR. JIM HEITHOFF, a retired priest from the Grand Island Diocese will be here this coming weekend to take my place. I will be at the convention of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre in Kansas City. I always enjoy going to this meeting since it is the one extra thing in which I stay involved. The group is an international group and its prime purpose is to support the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Jerusalem. PRAYERS FOR REPARATION: When evils come and threaten the Church and especially when those evils come from within, from its own ministers, then prayers for reparation are in order. Here is the prayer taught to the Fatima children visionaries by the Angel: With the Chalice and Host suspended in midair, the Angel knelt and prayed the following prayer three times. Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I adore You profoundly, and I offer You the most precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifference with which He Himself is offended. And, through the infinite merits of His most Sacred Heart, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg of You the conversion of poor sinners. St. Faustina learned this prayer during her encounter with an Angel and experience of the mystical love of the Trinity: Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ for our sins and those of the whole world; for the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us. The next morning, when I entered chapel, I heard these words interiorly: Every time you enter the chapel, immediately recite the prayer which I taught you yesterday. When I had said the prayer, in my soul I heard these words: This prayer will serve to appease My wrath. These prayers, prayed with devotion, help to make up for the sacrileges against the church caused by sinners. 8:05 a.m. Lyle & Julie Hall MASS INTENTIONS Tuesday, September 18th Wednesday, September 19th St. Januarius 2:40 p.m. Orville Sudbeck 5:30 p.m. Bonnie Hoesing L/D of Tim Leader Family Thursday, September 20th Ss. The one in the lobby of the church will be there and available if we every have a need for one in the High School. The one in the Werner Center is there for use if we ever have need for one in the Grade School. In the case of this one, it was a replacement for the present one installed probably when the Center was build, out of date. The one in Werner is located on the north end of the lobby. Many thanks to these organizations for their donations. NOTE TO THOSE WHO NEED COMMUNION TO BE BROUGHT TO THEM IN THE BACK: Sometimes the EMHC s cannot see clearly if there is anyone needing communion in the back of church: can t see someone if they are standing and others around are obscuring the view or the sun is beaming through the windows. So, I have devised a method of giving a signal: If you need communion brought to you put up the green circle on the wall next to the cry room. Otherwise, a red one will be on that spot telling the EMHC there is not need to go to the back. In know its cheezy but, hey, it might work.

6 MOVING CEDAR F0RWARD Cedar Catholic Jr. Sr. High School PO Box 654, Hartington, NE ; Campaign Questions & Answers of the Week Q. Why are there other requests for donations going on at the same time as a campaign? We are constantly being asked for money? It can get to be too much. A. It all certainly seems like a lot or too much sometimes. We trust our parish councils, schools boards, committees or those who represent us for researching, prioritizing and balancing the timeline, needs and requests that become necessary to address. Keeping in mind that our parish and school personnel, repre sentatives and committees have to almost constantly deal with requests for two general needs of our Catholic schools and parishes. There are short term/annual needs and longer term or capital needs. Shorter term are like in our homes, the annual budgets or cost of operation such as utilities, repairs, transportation, insurance, food, employee salaries and benefits etc. In our Catholic schools/cedar Catholic annual income to provide budget needs come from three sources: student tuition, parish subsidy and development/fundraising. Development has to depend upon outright gifts, several fundraisers and annual appeals plus interest from endowment assets each year to provide about one third of Cedar s budget. Capital needs are building repair or replacement, new buses, electric, heating, cooling systems, And adding to endowment and contingency funds for future needs. The only way to get capital needs or increasing money assets is through special/added donations and /or fundraising organized in a capital campaign. This is why there can be things going at the same time to accomplish simultaneous needs. When need beyond annual budget needs happen it takes added effort, sacrifice and prayers. No different than need to buy groceries, clothes and gas for our families while having to afford building on to the house or machine shed. Probably not anything new from what previous generations did and passed on to keep and maintain. We most likely do not get any more frustrated than they did but they still found a way to make it happen and didn t have as comfortable of homes as we do today. Faith gives us the hope and means to be as generous as can afford to be. No one is expected to give what is not possible. But b being generous from what is possible is all that s asked. Q. Cedar Catholic isn t the school of our choice. Why should we support a campaign for it? A. Everyone s school choice is respected. A big advantage in this rural area is we have great public and parochial school choices. We can be thankful for our good schools and appreciate what they each do in our communities. School support can be offered in many ways to meet the needs of the school. Supporting Cedar Catholic also supports the local economy from which everyone directly or indirectly benefits in communities. Cedar Catholic offers large a large economic factor as a county business. Cedar Catholic, part of Cedar County Catholic Schools to include East Catholic, Holy Trinity and West Catholic Elementary Schools, are one of the largest county employers with 100 full and part time employees who live, work and do business here. Our Catholic schools are significant consumers of utilities, supplies, food and transportation in the county s economic system. The Catholic schools are a business with dollars rotating several within local economies. According to amibi.net/resources, $1 will rotate through a community 3.5 to 7 times a community. Regardless of school choice, those rotating dollars pass through many hands for the benefit of many. Q. It seems like our Catholic schools and parishes are all about money? Isn t it about faith? A. Faith is absolutely our nucleus and reason. What else would motivate us to work and sacrifice as much as needed to maintain our Catholic schools and parishes. It simply takes money to operate and maintain. Let us be reminded that Cedar Catholic and our Catholic elementary schools provide intellectual, spiritual, physical and ethical capital of priceless value to help progress communities.

8 Liturgy & Spirituality Committee Meeting May 10, 2018 held at Holy Trinity office work 8:10 P.M. Present: Fr. Owen Korte, Rose Koch, Lois Lammers, Russ Flamig, Judy Kuchta, Roger Filips, and Janet Albers. The meeting opened with prayer. The minutes were reviewed and approved as presented. The celebration of Corpus Christi and its outside procession and altars were discussed. A truck is needed for the PA system as the Lee Lammers truck is not available that day. The decorated altars by parish members were discussed. The placement of the altars will be the same as last year. The Rose Noecker Koch families and Bette Becker families were confirmed for two of the decorated altars. There was still needed confirmation on the other two altars of Jim Steffen and Kathie Dresden. A parish pot luck will be held again after the procession. A Memorial Day mass will again be celebrated at the cemetery. Father would like to coordinate this with the American Legion service held that day there at the cemetery. Mass attendees are welcome to bring lawn chairs to the cemetery. The Vocation Display Wall was again brainstormed. Details of who to include, how much information, names/pictures etc. After much discussion, it was decided that simplicity would be key to its success. A more appropriate name would be Vocation Prayer Wall, so as people read it they realize these parish members are in need of prayer as they encounter a new sacrament (marriage, religious vocation) or a new ministry (diaconate or campus ministry). This wall will require updating as time will change the display. Meeting 9:12 p.m. Next meeting was set possibly for June 7 th. Our closing prayer was the Glory Be.
