1 St. Boniface, St. John the Baptist, St. Joseph Parishes June 29, 2014 We are all one body, one body in Christ, and we do not stand alone. We are Christ s body, His hands and feet. This window replacement will make the school building more energy efficient and less drafty, leading to energy savings. The money from this project is from the $60,000 donation from Hartington that we received several years ago. Part of that money paid for the current school bus. The rest of the money, along with a $10,000 grant obtained this spring from the Archdiocese, is covering the cost of the windows. If you have not already, feel free to come to the school to see the project s progress and the difference between the old windows and the new windows.

Hoebelheinrich, John Pinkelman PARISH NEWS June 30 Beaver Creek Rosary 8:00 p.m. July 3 St. Boniface Prayer Garden Rosary 8:00 p.m. Fr. Fulton explains why St. John the Baptist Parishwill no longer be using the Oregon Catholic Press (OCP) missals and music: Due to their licensing rules, any of OCP s buyers have to purchase the same product each year. Therefore, it is a violation of the law to use any of OCP s materials from a prior year. What should be a one - time purchase is an annual repurchase of the same product. OCP has been changing words in hymns in recent years to include vertical inclusive language. Vertical inclusive language comes in the form of avoiding using the divine pronoun (he, him) in referring to God. For instance, For the fruits of his creation within the last two years has become For the fruits of this creation. This avoidance of the use of the divine pronoun is common for radical feminists, gay advocacy groups, and those who want to redefine marriage as revealed by God. EWTN a few years ago asked OCP about the changes in a form of protest, and OCP simply replied that its hymn writers requested the changes. Some OCP hymns are theologically ambiguous (ex. City of God, which suggests Pelagianism), to the point where one would wonder why one would support such a publisher when there are other alternatives. June 29, Sunday The Peter s Pence Collection unites us in solidarity to the Holy Father and his works of charity to those in need. In his address of March 20, 2013, Pope Francis spoke of our responsibility before the world and creation. There is much that we can do to benefit the poor, the needy, and those who suffer; and to favor justice, promote reconciliation, and build peace, he said. Your contributions to the Peter s Pence Collection allow the Holy Father to support victims of war, natural disasters, and others most in need of assistance. Join the Holy Father and be a witness of charity throughout the world. We welcome Jan Sudbeck, Dennis Kleinschmit, and Allen Bonertz as the new members of the Parish Council and we look forward to working with you. Ignite the Faith Campaign Info How much of the funds donated to the campaign are going to the Archdiocese? None of the campaign funds raised are going to the archdiocesan administration. All of the campaign funds will be used for identified needs and priorities in our archdiocese. Here in our parish, 50% of the funds raised will go toward local needs 10% directly to the parish and an additional 40% will be used for Catholic education and/or schools in our community. The remainder will be used to support priest retirement and new vocations. Rural parishes benefit greatly from this campaign. In addition to the money that we raise for our local needs, we also benefit from programs that are being funded by donors in Omaha such as a teacher scholarship fund, grants for Catholic schools and faith formation programs.
