2 Page 2 From the Pastor s Desk by Fr. Owen Korte FIRST COMMUNION: I wonder if we will have nice weather for our Parish First Communion next Sunday? No matter what, inside the church we will experience the Son, who comes to our young ones for the first time. Please pray for our Second Graders and their Parents/Families. The list of names will appear in the bulletin next Sunday. BLESSING OF SEEDS: I have gotten very few seeds to bless. And to make this meaningful, the seeds I bless are the seeds you will be planting. So, I will delay this until the Third Sunday of Easter or April 22. So, please bring your seeds. OSV OFFERTORY RENEWAL: We have had a great turnout with over 2/3 of the parish participating. The summary of the results will come out once we have sent out a letter to confirm your commitments. Fr. OK NEXT FAMILY FORMATION: The May Family Formation will take place on May 2nd. We will end our Family Formation year with a Potluck dinner and a Living Rosary with all the kids participating. Eileen Ratigan is a very good church decorator and statue restorer. I have asked several people to help with the repainting and restoring of three of our statues. The St. Ann Statue, expenses covered. The Our Lady of Fatima Statue, looking for donors. Both the St. Ann Statue and the Sacred Heart Statue will be placed in the Grade School. St. Ann teaching the young Mary is perfect for a school she will greet us as we enter the building and the Sacred Heart will be given a place of prominence further down the hallway. KORTE TO HELP OUT HT CAMP: June The Dates for the HT Camp this summer are: A MISSION A YEAR FROM NOW: I have scheduled a Redemptorist Parish Mission for April 7-10 of next year (2019). The Redemptorists are a Religious Order of Priests who produce the LIguorian Magazine, do Missionary work and also preach parish retreats (missions). In doing all your long-term scheduling, please keep these dates open. That means no evening activities: meetings, games, card-parties etc. During our Mission next year we will have a special traveling exhibit on the Shroud of Turin on display. In addition, we will have a renowned expert on the Shroud give a presentation on the Shroud. The Shroud is believed to be the burial cloth of Jesus. WHAT IS A PARISH MISSION: A Mission is a Parish Retreat that is meant for all ages and all families. It is meant to be something that all in the family can get something out of. If a child can be good for a Kindergarten teacher then they can participate. And if the little ones fall asleep...so what, what a great place to fall asleep. I am going to work hard on this parish mission to have interactive questions for parents to visit with your kids on the way home or the next day or in preparation for the next talk. We plan on providing babysitting so moms and dads can come. PRAYERS NEEDED: I ask that you pray for Cedar Catholic and Holy Trinity, the Principal Search Committee and the Holy Spirit s guidance as we engage in the search for a principal for the school year. COME HOLY SPIRIT AND SHED YOUR LIGHT DIVINE INTO THE HEARTS OF ALL THOSE INVOLVED IN THE SEARCH FOR A NEW PRINCIPAL FOR OUR SCHOOLS. BRING THE ANOINTING OF YOUR LOVE AND ALL THE GIFTS NEEDED UPON THE ONE WHO WILL BE CHOSEN. SHOWER YOUR GIFTS OF WISDOM, PRUDENCE KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING UPON THOSE CHARGED WITH MAKING THIS DECISION AS THEY EN- GAGE IN THIS MOST IMPORTANT TASK. CONSIDER A STOCK OR SECURITY DONATION TO YOUR PARISH: Direct gifts of stocks, mutual funds and other assets are simple for you to make and can be very beneficial gifts for both Holy Trinity Parish, Endowment or School and you. You can designate a stock donation as an immediate gift OR use the donation to establish a life-benefit gift such as a Charitable Lead or Remainder Trust. Werner Learning Center. Parents who have children ages 2-14 are welcome and encouraged to attend. If you registered, your books will be available that evening. If we want to prepare children to be strong, smart, and PURE we must begin TODAY! HOLY TRINITY PRESCHOOL: The preschool is now accepting registrations for the school year for both the Junior Kindergarten and the Preschool program. You can pick up the Registration Form and Financial Commitment Payment Plan from the Parish Office, the school office, or the Preschool. After your completed form and the non-refundable registration fee have been received at the business office, your information will be forwarded to Holy Trinity School, the school will then contact you to finalize your registration process. ENVELOPES & STATEMENTS: The 1st Quarter Personal Contribution Statements were put in the mail last week. Please check these statements and if you do not have a HT GUILD notation, that means that you have not yet taken care of your Guild dues. Remember that $25 of the dues amount is in lieu of a second parish fundraiser. Also, with the transition of the new donation envelopes, we have encountered a few problems. We think we have that corrected for the next set of envelopes that will be coming to you in the third week of April for May & June. All special envelopes will be a plain color with no pictures. Weekly envelopes will have pictures of our parish. Please make sure that all checks for these special envelopes (the plain ones) have a notation on the check so that we know that that donation is for that special collection. If there is cash in one of these envelopes, it will be designated to that special collection. If you have any questions or corrections for your personal statements, please call Rosemary at the Parish Office at EASTER COLLECTION: So far for Easter, we have collected $28, We have budgeted $33,500!
