4 MORNING WORSHIP Old/New Year s Service PRELUDE WELCOME CALL TO WORSHIP from Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 (p. 657) *HYMN: How Great Our Joy! - SEE PREVIOUS PAGE *PRAYER TESTIMONY OF GOD S FAITHFULNESS IN 2018 (Songs indicated will be sung unannounced.) PROFESSIONS OF FAITH In Philippians 1:6 we read, And I am sure of this, that He Who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. We thank God for working faith in the lives of Ashlyn Horan, Michelle Kuipers, Jack Kuipers, Addison Peters, Leo Steenwyk, and Claire Sterenberg who all publicly professed their faith in Jesus. We also anticipate the public professions of faith of Haoming Zhang, Juliet Das, Olav Das, and Ben Biswas next Sunday, January 6. Let us pray that the Lord continue to grow them in their faith and that they will serve and love Him with all their heart, soul, mind and strength. HYMN: In Christ Alone - SEE FOLLOWING PAGE MARRIAGES Ephesians 5:30-31 reads, Because we are members of His body therefore, a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. Zach & Alicia Zwart and Colin & Megan Staat have all spoken vows and were united in love in We anticipate the weddings of Ellie Sterenberg & Josh Von Borstel, Devan Hoekstra & Emily Koops, and Anna Bouma & Jacob Boer this coming year. Let us continue to pray as our marriage form reads that the Lord will keep them faithful and strong in every trial and sustain their joy and affection for many years. HYMN: A Christian Home - SEE PAGE 5 3

In 2018 we welcomed into our fellowship John & Emma Van Munster, Ted & Pat Bosgraaf, Dan & Alice Chaffee, Jean Vande Hoef, Albert & Glennys De Jonge, Dirk, Stacey, Aidan, Teddy, & Olivia Hollebeek, Brian, Missy, Jake, Sam, Hannah, Jon, & Ava Knot, Pastor Marc, Niki, Alaina, Taya, & Caden Van Berkum, Matt, Kerri, Abby, & Jack Allen, Haoming Zhang, Juliet, Olav, & Fiona Das, Ben & Alex Biswas. This past year, Cheryl Keuning, Justin Bouma, Brian & Tammy Brunsell, Bob Jr., Kathy, Jack, & Michelle Kuipers, Michael, Erin, & Abigail Kortering, Josh Jackson, and Hillary (Zwiep) Talsma joined other Christian fellowships. We pray for God s blessing on them in their new church homes. And this is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as He has commanded us (I John 3:23). SONG: Blest Be the Tie That Binds - Psalter Hymnal #315 (stanzas 1 and 2) LEADERSHIP AND SERVICE Ephesians 6:7 reads, Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men. We are thankful for all those members in our church who in 2018 gave so willingly of their time and talents and monies and gifts in the ministries of this congregation. May we also continue to uphold the ministries of this church in our prayers. Thank you, to all who have served so faithfully in We also thank the Lord for guiding our search for both an Associate Pastor and a new Music Director and leading us to Pastor Marc Van Berkum and Brian Knot. We also mourn for the loss of other loved ones. We thank God for their lives, and for their testimony and service among us. We anticipate reunion with them when God calls all His children home on that day when the trumpet sounds. *HYMN: By the Sea of Crystal - Psalter Hymnal #620 (all stanzas) PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING SCRIPTURE: Matthew 19:30 20:16 (p. 980) MESSAGE: WORKERS IN THE VINEYARD PRAYER 6

PEOPLE: BECAUSE CHRIST ALONE IS THE ETERNAL, NATURAL SON OF GOD. WE, HOWEVER, ARE ADOPTED CHILDREN OF GOD ADOPTED BY GRACE THROUGH CHRIST. JOHN 1:11-13 He came to His own, and His own people did not receive Him. But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood or the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. HEIDELBERG CATECHISM 2&A 34 PASTOR: Why do you call Him our Lord?
