Rosary Coast to Coast is inspired by the Rosary on the Border in Poland and the Rosary on the Coast in both Ireland and the UK. We are inviting Catholics across the country to pray together to call upon God through the powerful intercession of Our Lady of the Rosary to heal our country and return it to Holiness. We will pray the rosary and the Divine Mercy Chaplet during Eucharistic Adoration. Today our battle is spiritual! We continue to live in peace-less times with laws and court rulings in conflict with God s laws; especially the disregard for the rights of the unborn, elderly and weak in our society and the attacks on marriage and family values. Society and many levels of government continue to demonstrate intolerance towards biblically based religious belief and practice. In conflict with First Amendment constitutional rights, persecution of traditional religious expression has reached historically high levels. Rosary Rally America Needs Fatima is sponsoring a rosary rally on Saturday, October 13th at noon. Please join us and others at the Beltway Shopping Center, 7639 Belair Rd, as we pray the rosary for peace in our world. In The Secret of the Holy Rosary, St. Louis de Monfort said Public prayer if far more powerful than private prayer to appeace the anger of God and call down His mercy. 40 DAYS FOR LIFE Pro-life people will gather and pray on Belair Rd. at the Belway Shopping Center from September 26- Nov 4. St. Ursula will be praying on MONDAYS from 7am-7pm. Can you sign up to pray for 1 hour for an end to abortion, healing for mothers and fathers and healing for those who are involved in abortion? Rosary Congress: 24/7 adoration and rosary The Archdiocese of Baltimore is presenting its second Rosary Congress Oct as a way of encouraging people to pray for peace, grow in faith and develop a deeper relationship with Christ. The event commemorates the 101st anniversary of the Blessed Virgin Mary s appearance to three small shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal. Mary promised that if the world would repent, follow Christ and pray the rosary daily, peace would follow. Hosted by the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Baltimore, the Rosary Congress will include Masses, spiritual talks, opportunities for confession, perpetual adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and a Marian Sacred Music Concert in memory of Monsignor Arthur Valenzano, former rector of the Baltimore Basilica. The rosary will be prayed every hour on the hour. I believe it is through this kind of prayer that we will change our city, our world and our Church, said Father James Boric, current rector of the Baltimore Basilica. Then there was a parallel practice of praying 150 Hail Marys. Soon a mystery of Jesus life was attached to each Hail Mary. Though Mary s giving of the rosary to Saint Dominic is recognized as a legend, the development of this prayer form owes much to the followers of Saint Dominic. One of them, Alan de la Roche, was known as the apostle of the rosary. He founded the first Confraternity of the Rosary in the 15th century. In the 16th century, the rosary was developed to its present form with the 15 mysteries: joyful, sorrowful and glorious. In 2002, Pope John Paul II added five Mysteries of Light to this devotion. GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP FORMING When we experience the death of someone, we often feel isolated, confused, sad, and angry. We sometimes feel out-of-sorts, disconnected from friends, family, and colleagues. Know you are not alone. St. Ursula is forming a morning grief support group, beginning Thursday, October 18, at 9:30am. Meetings will be held for 6 weeks in the rectory basement. She needs volunteers of all kinds: crocheters, sewers, help packaging Angel Gowns, cutting fabrics, organizing supplies, delivering the Angel Gowns to hospitals etc. She also welcomes donation of various materials they need in making Angel Gowns.
