1 The Traditional Latin Mass Society of San Francisco TLM Society Website: TLM Society If you would like to post an article or an advertisement in the TLMS bulletin and website please us at The Traditional Latin Mass Society is an association of Roman Catholic faithful dedicated to the preservation of the Ancient form of the Roman Rite or the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite, as a legitimate use of Holy Mother Church s Great Liturgical Patrimony. The Society includes lay faithful drawn from every age, group and walks of life as well as clergy and religious members who continue to adhere with great love and affection to the earlier liturgical forms. (Pope Benedict XVI, Motu Proprio Summorum Pontificum of 2007) 3rd Sunday after Easter May 11, 2014 May you have all the JOY your heart can hold All the SMILES a day can bring All the BLESSINGS a life can hold May you have God's BEST in EVERYTHING! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! MARK YOUR CALENDARS! June 19 27, 2014 A Parish Mission Conference Source and Summit of Catholic Life With Fr. Paul Nicholson Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church 4420 Geary Boulevard San Francisco, CA The Source and Summit of the New Evangelization is the Eucharistic Mystery Every faithful Catholic is set aflame and fortified in the Heart of Christ in every Mass and is sent out as fresh arterial blood to a dying world. Far from retreating, the Church looks toward the challenges of modern paganism with the same charity and hope as she did at her beginning. The Divine Majesty hidden in the Host comes to liberate us by stooping down beneath us, to lift us up so as to change the world. Celebrating both the Missals of Bl. John XXIII and Paul VI in a unique liturgical mission, Eucharistic Pride 2014 aims to give the Heart of Christ adoration and reparation through liturgical excellence, preached conferences, Eucharistic processions, and silent adoration EucharisticPride2014@gmail.com 1 P age

St. John the Apostle Catholic Church 101 Oakcrest Manor Dr. NE Leesburg, VA June 14, 2014, 9:00 a.m. The Institute of Christ the King 2014 Priestly Ordinations in the U.S.A. St. Francis de Sales Oratory in St. Louis, Missouri O Lord, send us many holy priests!" It is the custom in the worldwide apostolates of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest to add this invocation to the Divine Praises which are recited at each Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. By the grace of God obtained through the prayers of the Institute's family and friends, the numbers of seminarians have steadily increased over the last several years. Of the 80 men who are currently enrolled at St. Philip Neri International Seminary in Gricigliano, near Florence, Italy, in order to become priests for Holy Mother Church, one in every three comes from the United States and Canada. Having participated in the preparatory year of discernment and formation in the Institute's apostolates in the United States, these nearly thirty North American seminarians then proceed over the course of seven years to mount the altar step by step, receiving the various Minor and Major Orders of the Church after much prayer, study, and work in the community life of the international seminary. With heartfelt gratitude to Divine Providence, it is our joy to announce the upcoming priestly ordinations which will take place this summer in the United States. With the gracious permission of His Grace, the Most Reverend Robert J. Carlson, Archbishop of St. Louis, several American deacons will be ordained to the holy priesthood at St. Francis de Sales Oratory in St. Louis, Missouri, on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, Feast of Our Lady of the Snows. The Sacrament of Holy Orders will be conferred by His Eminence, Raymond Leo Cardinal Burke, Prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura, during the solemn Pontifical Mass which will be offered on this feast in honor of Mary Immaculate, principal patroness of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest. The Institute's Founder and Prior General, Very Reverend Monsignor Gilles Wach, along with the Seminary Rector and Co-Founder, Reverend Canon Philippe Mora, will be present for this special occasion, along with many Canons and members of the Institute family. The names of those to be ordained will be announced in the coming months after the important period of exams and scrutiny which is a necessary part of preparation before Holy Orders. The Institute is profoundly grateful to all who have offered prayers for these future priests, especially through the St. Philip Neri Seminary Society's program of spiritual adoption by which the faithful pray daily for a particular seminarian. With deep appreciation the Institute likewise is very thankful to all of the generous benefactors of its International Seminary, especially to those charitable persons who have made donations to the special appeal of the St. Philip Neri Seminary Society for the tuition support of needy seminarians who cannot afford this cost. The Institute welcomes all friends and faithful who would like to attend this Ordination ceremony. Details will be made available in the coming months. Everyone is likewise invited to pray for these several deacons as they prepare to become ordained sons of Christ the King Sovereign Priest at the service of Holy Mother Church and for the good of souls. 2 P age
3 From the Assistant Chaplain May is the month of motherhood. Spring teems with the beautiful new life of flowers and sunshine and warmth. We honor our natural mothers on the civic holiday today of Mother's Day. And, most of all, we honor our common Mother, the Mother of God, the Blessed Virgin Mary. It's beautiful to see this celebration of motherhood become a kind of crescendo of praise to Mary. The flowers of spring adorn with beauty our natural mothers and their fruitfulness in our lives. And these same natural mothers become, in their own way, both by nature and grace, living tributes of praise to the Perfect Mother and most pure Virgin. By living their motherhood in its natural and supernatural dimensions, Christian mothers can imitate and honor Our Lady, making her present in our lives in a concrete way - the way flowers make present our love for our dear mothers. May is the month for our crowning of Blessed Mary with the flowers of spring. We do this solemnly in our May processions and devotions. Yet it is far more important for us to do this spiritually and mystically by honoring her with hearts full of Divine Love. We crown our Mother spiritually especially in the devout and loving recitation of the Holy Rosary. How can we not crown her daily during the month dedicated to her Virginal Fruitfulness? If we pray the Rosary daily, this is a sufficient life of prayer and meditation for us. Here we have a living relationship of Divine Love with Christ through His Mother. We call upon her as her faithful children, trusting in her maternal love for us, and asking to be conformed to her virginal heart. We enter her heart by meditating on the mysteries of the Rosary, which she keeps in her heart as her priceless treasure of faith. If we pray the Rosary daily starting today, Mother's Day, we will become fruitful virgin mothers spiritually after the heart of Mary. As Jesus said, "If you do the will of my Father in Heaven, you are...mother to me." This is the great Christian dignity revealed by our Blessed Mother. When we give our hearts entirely to Christ, He makes us fruitful spiritually unto our own salvation and the salvation of others. This is the full meaning of the fruitful beauty of May. This is why God made flowers and sunshine and mothers. Celebrate well this month of Mary. She wants to keep us in her virginal womb until we are born to eternal life. Fr. Joseph Previtali 2014 Mass of Presbyteral and Diaconate Ordination - The Dominican Friars of the Province of the Most Holy Name of Jesus invite you to the Presbyteral Ordination of Rev. Br. Please makes checks payable to: Western Dominican Province 3 P age Feature of the Week: We Are Praying for Priests Started as a Facebook group, We Are Praying for Priests was formed as a tribute to Bona F. Mangabat, who loved to pray and give support for priests. She died on May 7, 2011, and her daughter, Kisset (Heart Margarita), continued her legacy in supporting by prayers not only priests, but also religious, deacons and seminarians. By taking advantage of social media networks (primarily through facebook), the group has grown considerably in size. As of today, May 7, 2014, the group already has 6,854 members composed of both clergy and lay faithful coming from different countries all over the globe. Facebook postings vary from news articles about priests to special sacerdotal anniversary greetings. Oftentimes, prayer requests are also posted. On certain weeks, their facebook cover photo page highlights various communities of priests and religious. On the occasion of their third anniversary, one of the group administrators, Chinkee Herrera, created the logo above. A symbol of prayer, which the group focuses on. Rosary symbolizes the prayer which the Blessed Virgin Mary has taught to help priests in their ministry. The stole represents the bonds and fetters which Jesus was bound during his Passion and Death. It is the sign which denotes the duty of the priest to spread the word of God. The hand above the praying hands denotes the sign of Jesus blessing as seen in most pictures and images. MMXI represents the roman numerals for 2011, the year We Are Praying for Priests was formed. Everyone is encouraged to check out any of the links below and join! 5 Mass Propers for 3 rd Sunday after Easter: May 11, 2014 Introit Ps 65:1 2 Shout with joy to God, all the earth, sing ye a psalm to his name; give glory to his praise. allelúja, allelúja, allelúja. Ps 65:3 Say unto God, How terrible are thy works, O Lord! in the multitude of thy strength thy enemies shall lie to thee. V. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. Collect Almighty God, Who showest to them that be in error the light of thy truth, to the intent that they may return into the way of righteousness grant unto all them that are admitted into the fellowship of Christ's Religion, that they may eschew those things that are contrary to their profession, and follow all such things as are agreeable to the same. Epistle 1 Pet 2:11 19 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, to refrain yourselves from carnal desires which war against the soul, Having your conversation good among the Gentiles: that whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by the good works, which they shall behold in you, glorify God in the day of visitation. Be ye subject therefore to every human creature for God's sake: whether it be to the king as excelling; Or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of the good: For so is the will of God, that by doing well you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: As free, and not as making liberty a cloak for malice, but as the servants of God. Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king. Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward. For this is thankworthy, if for conscience towards God, a man endure sorrows, suffering wrongfully. Alleluia Allelúja, allelúja Ps 110:9 He hath sent redemption to his people: Luke 24:46 Thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise again from the dead, the third day. Allelúja Gospel John 16:16 22 In that time: Jesus said to his disciples: A little while, and now you shall not see me; and again a little while, and you shall see me: because I go to the Father. Then some of the disciples said one to another: What is this that he saith to us: A little while, and you shall not see me; and again a little while, and you shall see me, and, because I go to the Father? They said therefore: What is this that he saith, A little while? we know not what he speaketh. And Jesus knew that they had a mind to ask him; and he said to them: Of this do you inquire among yourselves, because I said: A little while, and you shall not see me; and again a little while, and you shall see me? Amen, amen I say to you, that you shall lament and weep, but the world shall rejoice; and you shall be made sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy. A woman, when she is in labour, hath sorrow, because her hour is come; but when she hath brought forth the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world. So also you now indeed have sorrow; but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice; and your joy no man shall take from you. Offertory Ps 145:2 Praise the Lord, O my soul, in my life I will praise the Lord: as long as I shall be. Allelúja. Secret Confer on us, O Lord, by these mysteries the moderation of our earthly desires: and teach us to love the things of heaven. Communion John 16:16 A little while, and now you shall not see me; and again a little while, and you shall see me: because I go to the Father, allelúja, allelúja. Post Communion May the Sacraments which we have received, O Lord, we ask, refresh us with spiritual nourishment, and preserve as with bodily assistance. 5 P age
