Hand. NEW PARISHIONERS: Welcome to our newly registered parishioners of Our Lady of Peace Parish. MASS INTENTIONS All available Mass intention dates are now available on our website at ~Mass cards for the living or deceased are $10. ~Bread and Wine Mass cards are $20 for a week. RENTAL FEES AND POLICIES The buildings at Notre Dame de Lourdes and Our Lady of Peace, are available to rent ($ per hour). Please call the parish office if you are interested. The archdiocesan insurance fee for rentals is $ No exceptions.

2 BAPTISMS NEW POLICY: Anyone requesting a baptism must be registered for at least 3 months and actively attending Church each week. Baptisms will take place every Sunday at 1:00 PM. You must be a registered member of our parish for at least 3 months. Parents will need to attend one pre-jordan class before their child s Baptism. Both Godparents must be 16 years of age and will need a letter of good standing from his/her current Parish. Note: A baptized person who belongs to a non-catholic Church may be admitted as a Christian witness to Baptism together with a Catholic sponsor. The choice of a god-parent/sponsor should be made primarily on a spiritual basis. Christian Witness status does not apply to Catholics who have left the Church. A Certificate of Eligibility is required from the parish of those requesting to become godparents or sponsors, and proof of Baptism is required for Christian witnesses. Certificates: Copies of any sacraments received at OLP or Notre Dame Church can be requested on our website: or by calling the parish office. MARRIAGES Anyone who wishes to be married at Our Lady of Peace Parish, is asked to contact Fr. Hand at least six months before the desired date to schedule an appointment about their upcoming wedding. Couples must attend a marriage prep program called Pre-Cana. This program includes a discussion of the mission and purpose of marriage preparation, an introduction to the sacrament of marriage, guest speakers and recommendations for resources to use with engaged couples. The Catholic Church law ordinarily requires baptized Roman Catholics to marry before a priest or deacon. Unless they requested and received a dispensation from canonical form, Catholics who exchange marriage vows in the presence of only ministers from other religious traditions or authorized civic officials are not considered validly married in the eyes of the Catholic Church. Later, those couples may seek to have their union officially recognized by the Church. In technical Church terms, this is known as convalidation of a marriage. If you are in this situation and want to find out more about the convalidation process we kindly ask you to approach one of the parish Deacons or Fr. Hand. ANOINTING OF THE SICK Anyone who is sick or needs a priest to anoint them is asked to please call the parish office any time to schedule an appointment. If surgery or admission to the hospital is scheduled, please call the Rectory to arrange for the Sacrament of the Sick to be administered before admission or surgery. Upon admission to the hospital, please be sure you are identified in hospital records as a Catholic to be assured of visits by the Catholic chaplains. Without being notified as to the status (or hospital room number) of a sick relative or parishioner, the Priests and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion will not know to visit. Please keep us informed! I want to thank everyone in the parish community for your prayers and support through out my discernment in my vocation. Please know that I can not thank each of you enough, you are all part of my family, and I am so happy that this parish community is able to be with me on my journey to the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Throughout the weekend of my celebration to the order of Deacon, the parish community has given me so many prayers and gifts in celebration of my Diaconate Ordination. The first service will be June 13 th followed by July 13 th, August 13 th and ending on September 13 th. We plan to have a Pig Roast on Thursday, June 29 th and on the closing night of the carnival (July 1st), we will have an Italian Night featuring a spaghetti dinner with meatballs or sausage. A selection of other foods, including hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken fingers, and French fries will also be available on all nights. Advanced sale of carnival ride tickets will be made available at the parish office, the school office and after each weekend Mass through June 26 th. Strips of 20 tickets will be sold for $25.00 per strip. Each advanced sale ticket will allow the holder to ride any carnival ride. This represents a significant savings compared to the tickets purchased during the carnival. The carnival rides will require 3 or more tickets if the tickets are purchased during the carnival. The Carnival Raffle, with a top prize of $1000, second prize of $500, and 5 additional prizes of $100 will be drawn on Saturday night, July 1 st. Tickets may be purchased at the parish office, school office, after each weekend Mass and at the parish booth during the carnival. The first team to score 13 runs exactly wins the pot. This is a 50/50 pool with half to Our Lady of Peace Parish and half to the winner.
