3 PARISH INFORMATION Anyone who wishes to register in the Parish is asked to please call the Parish Office Baptisms Baptisms will take place every Sunday at 12:30 PM in Our Lady of Peace Church. Parents will need to attend one pre- Jordan class before their first child s Baptism. Both Godparents must be 16 years of age and need a letter of good standing from his/her current Parish. SACREMENTAL CERTIFICATES/ ELIGIBILITY LETTERS : Please call the Parish Office to request a copy of any sacraments received or to request a letter of eligibility to serve as a sponsor. PRE-JORDAN CLASS: Pre Jordan Classes are held monthly on a Monday or Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM. Please call the Parish Office for more information. Marriages & Pre-Cana Please call the Parish Office at least six months before the desired date to schedule an appointment. Couples must attend a marriage prep program called Pre-Cana. Thank you one and all for both your help and for your support of OLP's Annual Christmas Bazaar. The Giving Trees Are Up As is being announced this weekend at the Masses, the Parish Giving Trees are set up and are decorated with stars. On the back of each star lists a gift to be purchased to benefit a person in need. Please support this worthy effort by sharing the Christmas spirit with the less fortunate. Board of Limited Jurisdiction I am happy to announce the members of the newly formed Board of Limited Jurisdiction. 5 PARISH GROUPS & MEETINGS Craft Meetings Will begin on Thurs., Sept. 6 th from 6-8 PM in the OLP Cafeteria. They will be held every Thursday until the Bazaar or unless otherwise noted. Check the weekly bulletin. Feel free to bring your own ideas. All are welcome to join! Feed the Poor Will meet on Sunday Afternoons at 12:30 PM in Our Lady of Peace Cafeteria. We are looking for volunteers to help make PB &J sandwiches to feed the poor in Kensington, Philadelphia. Please contact Tom Dillon, cell phone: if you would like to join the Team! Donations of Skippy creamy peanut butter, and grape jelly welcome at the weekly gathering. Notre Dame Players Give back to God what he has given to you. Share your love of music with our Seniors, in nursing homes and Senior Groups throughout Delaware County. Join the Notre Dame Players, a great way to spend your free time and talent. We meet on the first and third Fridays of each month. All seniors are invited to join. CYO Sports Through the CYO sports program, Our Lady of Peace Parish offers our youth the opportunity to grow in their faith and relationship to God while fostering principles of teamwork and sportsmanship. 6 From the Desk of Mrs. Pileggi It s Back! Coffee Sunday is back sponsored by our Student Council! Our first one will be NOTRE DAME SCHOOL NEWS Sunday, December 2 nd after the 10am mass at ND. Look for the January Coffee Sunday at OLP! Advent Services for the school children will be every Monday in Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, beginning on December 3 rd. The service will begin at 11:30am. Everyone is welcome to attend! Mark your Calendars.. Thursday, December 13 th : School Christmas Show! Nelson Hall 7pm All are welcome to attend! For you gave your law to our Jewish brothers and sisters to help them live in peace with each other. So too you give your wisdom to each of us to learn and grow in holiness and goodness in the world around us. May this coming year of learning together about you and about the world you created offer each of us an opportunity to help us shine the bright light of learning into the darkness of this world.
