February 3 - Blessing of Throats after Mass Saint Blaise is believed to begin as a healer then, eventually, became a "physician of souls." He then retired to a cave, where he remained in prayer. 3 FOURTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME JANUARY 31, 2016 Soup for the Soul The Adult Education Committee of St. Gabriel s Parish Council invites you to attend Soup for the Soul evenings beginning again in February. Deacon Carl Lickwar will facilitate this Lenten program to begin on Wednesday, February 17th at 6pm at St. Gabriel Church in the Church Hall. This Lenten Program offers a simple meatless soup supper to be served. The program will run on the following Wednesdays: February 17th, 24th, March 2nd, 9th, 16th, and 23rd. First Friday Holy Hour If in our time Christians must be distinguished above all by the art of prayer, how can we not feel a renewed need to spend time in spiritual converse, in silent adoration, in heartfelt love before Christ present in the Most Holy Sacrament? How often, dear brothers and sisters, have I experienced this, and drawn from it strength, consolation and support! (Pope St. John Paul II, Ecclesia de Eucharistia, no.25) On February 5 th exposition, adoration and benediction of the Blessed Sacrament will take place at St. Joseph Church between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. All are invited to attend. This is an opportunity to work with other committed members of your parish and to make this Church community a productive, spiritual, and meaningful place to be. Saint Gabriel Memorial Fund It is customary and fitting to remember loved ones who have died with memorial donations to a favorite cause or charity. In this way, the memory of the deceased is honored and a good work, either civic or religious, is perpetuated. There are numerous charities that have been traditionally designated for such purpose. Stop in for our Open Door Tours at St. Gabriel School St. Gabriel School is a Catholic School for Pre-K (3&4) and grades K-8, located at 77 Bloomfield Avenue in Windsor. We are holding Open Door Tours every Tuesday, beginning February 9th through April 26 th (excluding days the school is closed). Visit our school at any time from 9am - 2pm; appointments are appreciated but not required. Prospective families can tour our school, visit our classrooms and Pre-K area, and have the opportunity to ask questions on a one-to-one basis. Families will learn more about our mission and all we have to offer, including a strong curriculum, state of the art technology programs, and extracurricular activities.
