2 President s Message Summer is here for us to enjoy and relax. Hope you all have a good summer. Keep the following dates in mind in order that you are prepared to help us with the bingos that generate the funds needed to pay expenses. These are no longer used in our parishes. They will be available in the entrance to the church. A big thank you to all the members who have paid their membership for If you haven t done this task, please do it as soon as possible. The parish board wishes to welcome two NEW members to our parish. They are Linda Vanden Boer (Rose Chornoluk s daughter) and Gladys Marie Magega (Marie Magega s daughter). We sincerely hope this church becomes a spiritual home for you. Get Well Wishes: Myron Wozimirsky and Rose Marie Wakaruk are recuperating from their surgeries. Pat Truchan is recovering from a broken hip at the Royal Alexandra hospital. To those who are ill at home or hospital we wish a speedy recovery. May God grant you the determination and strength to regain your health as soon as possible. Farewell: Ron Ewanchuk and Leo Van Os are leaving us and moving to Penticton, B.C. Thank you Ron for all the help you and Leo have provided for our parish. We will miss your smile and willingness to help us whenever we required help. Have a safe journey and enjoy living in beautiful British Columbia.

3 The New World Order BLAME. NOT! NOT! NOT! Responsible! How the world works lately If a man cuts his finger off while slicing salami at work, He blames the restaurant. If you smoke 3 packs a day for 40 years and die of lung cancer, Your family blames the tobacco company. If your neighbor crashes into a tree while driving home drunk, He blames the bartender. If your grandchildren are brats without manners, You blame television. If your friend is shot by a deranged madman, You blame the gun manufacturer. And if a crazed person breaks into the cockpit at 35,000 feet, and the passengers kill him instead, the Mother of the crazed deceased blames the airline. I must have lived too long to understand the world as it is anymore. So, if I die while my OLD WRINKLED bum is parked in front of a computer, I want all of you to BLAME BILL GATES. Have a nice day! GOOD ADVICE - Take Care! Please take special care of yourself and avoid injuries because spare parts for old models are no longer in stock! As most of us are made in the 40 s, 50 s, 60 s and 70 s models. Warranty period was long over and expiry date is due soon Caution is better. Keep reminding ourselves We are a limited edition. *Whoever said money can t buy happiness never paid for a divorce before. Constantly complaining about the temperature A customer was bothering the waiter in a restaurant. First, he asked that the air conditioning be turned up because he was too hot, then he asked it be turned down cause he was too cold, and so on for about a half hour. Surprisingly, the waiter was very patient, he walked back and forth and never once got angry. So, finally, a second customer asked him why he didn t throw out the pest. Oh, I really don t care or mind. said the waiter with a smile. WE don t even have an air conditioner.

9 Ukrainian Women s Association of Canada St. Michael s Ukrainian Women s Association KNIAHYNIA OL HA BRANCH July-August, 2017 Summer is here, our favorite time of year. This is the time to relax and enjoy nature. Our members have worked diligently for the last ten months fundraising for the church and other charities. Let us reflect on our past accomplishments and plan our next activities for the fall. The annual church potluck dinner was held on June 11. As usual, there were many varieties of delicious food. Thank you to all those who contributed food for this wonderful buffet. The Ukrainian Self Reliance League convention will be held in Winnipeg August 10 to 13. We are sponsoring Dobr. Jeannette to attend as our delegate. If any other member is interested in attending as a second delegate, please notify Mary Paltzat. Women s Bi-Monthly Meeting Sunday, September 3, :00 p.m. On the lighter side: Late one night a burglar broke into a house and while he was sneaking around he heard a voice say Jesus is watching you. He looked around and saw nothing. He kept on creeping and again heard Jesus is watching you. In a dark corner, he saw a cage with a parrot inside. The burglar asked the parrot Was it you who said that Jesus is watching me? The parrot replied Yes. Relieved, the burglar asked What is your name? The parrot said Clarence. The burglar said That s a stupid name for a parrot. What idiot named you Clarence? The parrot answered The same idiot that named the Rottweiler Jesus. Have a great summer! Mary Paltzat, President

10 President s Message by Ron Kluchka Thank you to all the Bingo volunteers, your time and commitment contributes to the funding of the ongoing expenses of the church. We wish Jim & Myron a speedy recovery. It is nice to see that Jim is on his way to better health and we hope to see Myron soon. God s Blessings, to both of you. Special thanks to Harry for cutting the grass and looking after the yard during Jim s absence, Many thanks for the Hospodars and friends for taking such good care of the church building. *********************** Next bi-monthly meeting will be held on September 11th at 7:00 p.m. and I encourage all members to attend. Mark your calendars; the Men s Society will be celebrating their 50 th Anniversary on November 19 th as part of the Xram celebrations. I extend a thank you to Rev. Fr. Nicholas Orest Rauliuk for your continued blessings and guidance. Wishing everyone a summer filled with sun and fun. For those that are travelling, have a safe and pleasant journey. For the farmers and gardeners, may it rain every third evening and may the sun shine every day. HAPPPY SUMMER TO ALL!
