2 Mother s Day special There is no love, like a mother s love, No stronger bond on earth. Like the precious bond that comes from God, To a mother, when she gives birth. A mother s love is forever strong, Never changing for all the time. And when her children need her most, A mother s love will shine. God bless these special mothers, God bless them every one. For all the tears and heartache, And for the special work they ve done. When her days on earth are over, A mother s love lives on. Through many generations, With God s blessings on each one. 3 to any Boy s Father There are little eyes upon you and they re watching night and day. There are little ears that quickly take in everything you say. There are little hands all eager to do everything you do, and A little boy who s dreaming of the day he ll be like you. You re the little fellow s idol, you re the wisest of the wise. In his little mind, about you, no suspicions ever rise. There s a wide-eyed little fellow who believes you re always right. And his ears are always open and he watches day and night. You are setting an example every day in all you do, For the little boy who s waiting to grow up and be like you! happy Father s Day! Humour: Mother, I have a stomach ache, 5- year old Dixie said. That s because your stomach is empty, her mother replied. You would feel better if you had something in it. Later that afternoon the minister called, and he happened to remark that he had been suffering all day with a severe headache. Dixie piped up, I know why your head hurts. It s because it s empty. You d feel a whole lot better if you had something in it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ How much are these tomatoes? the lady asked the man at the roadside stand. Forty cents a pound. Did you raise them yourself? the lady inquired. I certainly did, answered the farmer. Yesterday they were only thirty-five cents.

4 Parish President s Message Spring has arrived and our thoughts are on planting gardens, flowers and house cleaning. Our parish has the following activities scheduled for the months of May and June. Thank you to all those members who have paid their membership for this year. Greatly appreciated. In Memoriam: Our deepest sympathies are extended to the families of Liz Maybroda. We will all miss her since she was still an active member of our parish. May she rest in peace! Bring your favorite dish. People who have no cooking facilities or skills can bring buns, fruit, pickles etc. The picnic will take place following the Divine Liturgy. May we all rejoice in the Resurrection of Christ and with it the mystery of our salvation. To all our parish faithful, a very special Easter greeting. May the miracle of this Easter season bless you with good health, happiness and prosperity. Eternal Memory! Our sincere condolences to the family of Liz Maybroda who passed away on April 1 st, Liz was a member of the Women s Association for 13 years. Her involvement in the parish will be missed. May her memory be eternal. It is with great sadness that we announce the recent passing of Glenn (Luke) Pawliuk at the age of 63. Glenn is the son of founding parish members George and Sophie Pawliuk. May his memory be eternal. Mother s Day, May 14 Father s Day, June 18 These two days are extremely important to celebrate. One of the Ten Commandments is to honor your mother and your father. To be raised by loving parents in a peaceful Christian home is a blessing to be treasured. The greatest of God s gifts is granting us children and grandchildren of our own. Please contribute one food item to share with all other parishioners. On the lighter side: An exasperated mother, whose son was always getting into mischief, finally asked him How do you expect to get into Heaven? 15 President s Report by Ron Kluchka When it finally stops snowing and the mud dries, we can then look forward to green grass and May flowers. At such time, the church grounds will be cleaned and groomed. I would like to thank the volunteers who are looking after the maintenance of the church, your efforts and your many hours of hard work are greatly appreciated. Again, a huge hand to those wonderful people who have volunteered to worked the bingos, your commitment is unmeasurable and your continued support is very much appreciated. On May 14th, we will be honoring our mothers. Happy Mother s Day greetings are being extended to all the mothers, grandmothers, and great grandmothers of our parish. Enjoy your day & may God Bless you with good health and happiness. Mark your calendars, the men's society s next bi-monthly meeting will be held on SUNDAY June 04 th at 12:15 pm after fellowship coffee. I encourage all members to attend, everyone s participation is important as we need to plan our 50 th ANNIVERSAY Celebration in NOVEMBER of this year.
