1 Friday, August 31, 2018 Phone: Fax: & WEATHER: We re waking up to some scattered high clouds this morning with warm out the door temps in the upper 60s and 70s. We re in for another hot August afternoon with temps quickly rising to around 90 degrees by noon before climbing into the upper 90s and low 100s by late day. Winds will become breezy for the second half of the day at mph and they ll stay in that range through our Friday night football games. It ll be a dry evening for most with temps dropping into the low 80s by the 4th quarter. It ll be northeastern New Mexico and the northwestern Panhandles that will have slight rain chances after 5 PM. Tulia, Texas Jo Wilkerson, 94, passed away on Wednesday, August 29, A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, August 31, 2018 in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Jo was born November 5, 1923 in Quitaque to Howell and Lela Mae Overstreet. She grew up in Quitaque and graduated from Quitaque High School. She married John P. Wilkerson on February 18, 1941 in Childress. They were married for 68 years. They lived in Amarillo for several years and she worked for Pantex during WWII and as a receptionist in a doctor s office in Amarillo before moving to Tulia where she and John opened John Wilkerson Ford Dealership in She worked as the accountant there from 1961 until they retired in She received numerous accounting awards from Ford Motor Company for outstanding accounting work at the dealership. They were members of First Baptist Church in Tulia. She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister: Mildred McKinley and her husband: John died April 6, She is survived by her son: Hal Wilkerson and wife Sandy of Tulia, her daughter: Jan Phillips of Amarillo and two grandchildren: Amy Wilkerson of Denver, Colorado and Blake Phillips of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, 101 N. Crosby, Tulia, TX or to Rose Hill Cemetery, P.O. Box 116, Tulia, TX Ann Annabelle Schacher, 92, passed away on Sunday, August 26, A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, September 15, 2018 in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Ann was the eldest child of Thye Wesley and Minnie Bell Moore, born on October 24, 1925 in Tulia, Texas. Ann was six years old when she became the older sister of twins, T.W., Jr. and Betty Sue.

2 On May 30, 1942 Ann married Bernard Bennie Nick Schacher. After Bennie returned from service in the U.S. Army Corps, Ann and Bennie lived in Wyoming and Nazareth, before moving to Swisher County. They farmed in Castro and Swisher Counties until Bennie s death on November 7, On August 13, 1963 Ann married Johnny Flippo, who also farmed in Swisher County, until his death on April 15, For the last six and one half years of her life Ann lived at the Georgia Manor Nursing Home in Amarillo. Ann was not only preceded in death by two husbands, but also by her parents and her siblings, T.W. and Betty Sue Moore. Ann is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial may be made to a charity of your choice. Ross Jutsum In July 1997, with encouragement from Dr. Jack Hayford and other leaders in the Church, Ross founded State of the Heart Ministries, an inter-denominational ministry of reconciliation and renewal of life worship, dedicated to building bridges in the Body of Christ. During the past 10 years, Ross has led worship and presented concerts in 1,000 plus churches of more than 100 different denominations in over 500 cities in the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean, Western Europe and Australia. Ross presentations range from full weekends of praise and worship including seminars for worship leaders and interactive worship services with messages geared to worship renewal and life worship, to shorter testimonies in word and song. In addition to serving as a guest worship leader and speaker, Ross often brings a concert of praise to a church on a Saturday evening or Sunday afternoon or evening. Ross also delights in being able to give programs at venues other than churches, like nursing homes, retirement communities, hospitals, schools, and homeless shelters. Dr. Jim Raddatz, a pastor in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, wrote of Ross visit there: Dr. Jutsum is not only proficient in his piano and vocal styling, but is also sensitive to the Holy Spirit in effectively ministering the

3 creative life of Jesus through worship. Ross State of the Heart ministry is indicative of ministry that flows from the heart of a true worshipper. Pastor Jeff Perry of St. Louis Family Church said of Dr. Jutsum s visit there that Ross clearly has the Lord s anointing as he shares his love for God through his singing and playing for the Body of Christ, wherever He opens the doors.
