7 Ukrainian Women s Association of Canada St. Michael s Ukrainian Women s Association KNIAHYNIA OL HA BRANCH President s Message Dorothy Stachniak, Home July-August, 2014 Mack Skoreyko June 13, 1984 May 21, 2014 Sincere condolences to Steffie Skoreyko and family on the recent passing away of Mack Skoreyko. He was one of the finest people that I know. In many areas, the growth of this parish can be attributed to the efforts of Mack. His knowledge of the procedures in the altar, his mechanical skills to fix something, his ability to coordinate a project and delegate responsibilities to others, will all be greatly missed. He truly was a people person who still made sure his family came first. God Bless you Mack. May your memory be eternal. Several of our members have been ill recently. I wish them a speedy recovery. It is our duty to pray for ourselves and for each other. I remind everyone to read the following: Prayer in Illness O Lord, my God, Physician of our souls and bodies, I come before Thee in prayer and implore Thee: Heal my ailment, cure the suffering of the soul and body of Your servant (name). As Thou art Merciful, forgive all my transgressions, voluntary and involuntary and quickly raise me from my sickbed. For You are the God of mercy and bounties and love toward mankind and unto Thee we ascribe glory, to the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. AMEN. Please send the Women s Association a written request for sponsorship after your children have attended camp. Please include the original receipt, child s name and your name. We would also appreciate a brief talk or letter/pictures from the youth describing their experiences. Requests are to be turned in to Dorothy Stachniak, President, St. Michael s Women s Association. 8 St Michael s Men s Society President s Message by Ron Kluchka With summer upon us, we can finally enjoy the sunshine, warm weather, green grass and flowers. Happy Summer to all! I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to Stephie Skoreyko for the recent loss of her husband and to her family for the loss of their father & grandfather, Mack. May you find the strength to deal with your loss and may his memory be eternal. Belated Father s Day wishes are being extended to all of our parish s fathers, stepfathers, grandfathers and step-grandfathers. Wishing you all, good health and happiness. Just in case someone hadn t noticed the extra twinkle in Myron s eye or Shirley s extra wide smile, the Wozimirskys are now proud grandparents. Their first grandchild, a grandson was born at the end of May. Congratulations to all and we wish you God s blessings. On behalf of men s society, I would like to thank all the members of our parish, their families and friends who volunteered and worked the June 4 th & 5 th casino.
