3 PARISH NEWS SUNDAY FLOWERS The bouquet at the main altar was donated in memory of Linda Urban requested by Barbara McInerney. The bouquet at the BVM Shrine was donated in memory of Helen K. Gentile requested by son John and Charlene. SODALITY The next Sodality meeting will be held today, Sunday, November 11 th after the 8:30 a.m. Mass in the parish hall. The $5 Sodality membership dues are now being collected. Please give the donation to Dorothy Ruscio or drop in the Sunday collection baskets. TURKEY FAIR All are invited to the Turkey Fair tonight, Sunday, November 11 th from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the parish hall. This night is full of prizes, fun and food. You don t want to miss it! This annual event serves as the Holy Name Society s only fundraiser for the year. NEED YOUR HELP Shop for Coatesville donations are due today, Sunday, November 11 th. The Teen Life and Jr. CYO will deliver the contributions. Thank you to all who participated so generously. TEEN LIFE & JR. CYO The Teen Life and Jr. CYO will meet today, Sunday, November 11 th from 11:45 to 1:00 p.m. to help with the Shop for Your Neighbor project. The Teen Life and Jr. CYO will meet next Sunday, November 18 th from 11:45 to 1:00 p.m. to help fill out the Angel Tags, put up the tree and decorate. MONDAY ROSARY The next Monday Rosary will be held tomorrow Monday, November 12 th at 6:00 p.m. to pray the Glorious Mysteries. All are welcome to join in the prayer. The Rosary is also recited at 4:30 p.m. on all Saturday evenings before the Vigil Mass at 5:00 p.m. This is a wonderful way to obtain grace from Mary, Queen of the Rosary, for whom our church is named THANK YOU A fun night was had by all who attended The Hop social. 4 BAKE SALE A Bake Sale will be held next weekend, November 17/18 in the parish hall. Stop by after Mass and take home a delicious treat! CALLING ALL BAKERS The Sodality is seeking help with donations of baked goods for the Bake Sale. Please drop off baked goods to the hall kitchen on Saturday morning, November 17 th. Due to allergy concerns, please label your item with the content of ingredients. Thank you for your continued support of the Woman s Sodality. It is truly appreciated. EUCHARISTIC ADORATION Everyone is invited to join in the all-day Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament which is offered on the last Monday of each month. Our next Eucharistic Adoration will be held on Monday, November 26 th. The Blessed Sacrament is exposed after the 7:00 a.m. Mass and will remain exposed for adoration until 7:00 p.m. The Rosary will be prayed in common at 6:00 p.m. followed by the St. Jude Novena and Benediction at 6:30 p.m. Come and spend some time before our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament! CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON The Sodality will host their Christmas Luncheon at Pronto Bistro Italiano on Sunday, December 9 th. Cocktails and hors d oeuvres at 2:00 p.m.; dinner at 2:30 p.m. Meal choices are salmon with lemon glaze ($28); chicken picatta ($29) or filet mignon ($42). All entrees will include a garden salad, Italian wedding soup, roasted potatoes, green beans in tomato sauce and Italian cannoli cake. Sign up forms can be found on the entrance tables in church. Please complete a form and return it to Pat Lewis or the rectory. Deadline for reservation is December 5 th. PRE-JORDAN Parents and godparents presenting a child for Baptism need to attend a preparation class in order to be properly informed about the meaning of the Sacrament of Baptism. The next class will be held on Monday, January 7 th at 6:00 p.m. in the last classroom in the parish hall. Registration is a must. Please register in advance by calling Mrs. Coxson at Please do not assume any date for baptism before confirming the date with Father Brennan. Before any date can be finalized, all forms and eligibility letters need to be delivered to the rectory. CHRISTMAS HELP All are invited to Decorate the Church for Christmas on Friday, December 21 st at 6:00 p.m. THANKSGIVING A wonderful way to start the celebration of Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, November 22 nd is with Mass and Communion. You are invited that day to bring Bread for your Table. During Mass, there will be a special blessing for the bread which you can later use at your meal as a reminder of God s many blessings and our unity with Him and each other through the powerful gift of the Holy Eucharist. Mass will be celebrated at 8:00 a.m. LITES OF LOVE Our Christmas Lights of Love letter was mailed to all our parishioners. Remember or honor your loved ones at Christmas time by a Lights of Love memorial. Place your donation in the envelope provided and return it in the collection basket or by mail. The deadline is Sunday, November 25 th. The Lights of Love Mass will be celebrated at the 5:00 p.m. Mass on Saturday, December 1 st. After Mass, the nativity scene and the Lights of Love on the corner of 17 th Avenue and Oak Street will be blessed and lit for the first time this season and stay illuminated throughout the Advent and Christmas season. CAROLING There will be a Christmas Caroling event on Sunday, December 16 th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Please meet in the church hall to carol around the neighborhoods and then return for refreshments provided by our Holy Name Society and Sodality. Dress warmly and bring flashlights, candles, jingle bells, and the like. For those who wish to stay inside and socialize, our Prayer Folk Group will be singing in the hall. For more information, call Pete DiMaio at There will also be a Community Caroling Event on December 9 th from 1:45 to 5:00 p.m. Members of various Coatesville Churches will join to share some Christmas Joy - all are welcome. The fun begins at the Coatesville Senior Center. Song sheets will be on hand and cookies and hot chocolate will be available after the caroling tour.
