3 PARISH NEWS ROSARY CAFE Rosary Café will be serving coffee, tea and conversation next Sunday, March 17 th from 9:00 to 12:00 p.m. in the parish hall. All are invited to take advantage of this great opportunity to mingle, chat and enjoy a cup before heading home. DID YOU REMEMBER Daylight Savings Time will begin today, Sunday, March 10 th. Spring ahead! DEVOTIONS The next Monday Rosary will be held tomorrow, Monday, March 11 th at 6:00 p.m. to pray the Luminous Mysteries. LENT Mass will be celebrated during Lent daily at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturdays. Mass will be celebrated at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday and Friday evenings. Stations of the Cross will be held after the 6:00 p.m. Mass on Fridays. FAST AND ABSTINENCE AND OTHER ACTS OF PENANCE DURING LENT The Bishops of the United States prescribe, as minimal obligation, that all persons who are fourteen years of age and older are bound to abstain from eating meat on Ash Wednesday and on all Fridays of Lent. Further, all persons eighteen years of age and older, up to and including their 59 th birthday, are bound to fast by limiting themselves to a single full meal on Ash Wednesday and on Good Friday, while the other two meals on those days are to be light. All the faithful are encouraged to participate in Mass and to receive the Most Holy Eucharist daily, to celebrate frequently the Sacrament of Penance, to undertake spiritual reading, especially the study of the Sacred Scriptures, and to participate in parish Lenten devotions as well as Lenten education programs. All are encouraged to participate in Operation Rice Bowl, which has aided countless hungry persons here in the archdiocese as well as throughout our nation and our world. You are enough! FYI Rev. SERVICE FOR OUR LORD Registration forms for new Altar Servers are available on the bulletin boards at the church entranceways. Any parish children (4 th grade or above) who would like to offer their service to God and our parish in this special ministry is invited to take one of the forms, fill in the necessary information and return it to Father Brennan no later than March 15 th. PRE-JORDAN Parents and godparents presenting a child for Baptism need to attend a preparation class in order to be properly informed about the meaning of the Sacrament of Baptism. The next class will be held on Wednesday, May 1 st at 6:00 p.m. in the last classroom in the parish hall. Registration is a must. PLEASE register in advance by calling Mrs. Coxson at Please do not assume any date for baptism before confirming the date with Father Brennan. Before any date can be finalized, all forms and eligibility letters need to be delivered to the rectory

4 EUCHARISTIC ADORATION Everyone is invited to join in the all-day Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament which is offered on the last Monday of each month. Our next Eucharistic Adoration will be held on Monday, March 25 th. The Blessed Sacrament is exposed after the 7:30 a.m. Mass and will remain exposed for adoration until 6:30 p.m. The Rosary will be prayed in common at 6:00 p.m. followed by the St. Jude Novena and Benediction at 6:30 p.m. Come and spend some time before our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament! GRIEVING THE DEATH OF A LOVED ONE Where ever you are on your journey of grief, you don t have to travel alone. All Our Lady of the Rosary parishioners are invited to take part in our upcoming grief support program. This six-week program, led by OLR Bereavement Ministry Team aims to help participants feel a renewed sense of hope and healing in God s loving guidance. The sessions will be held on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the church hall beginning March 12 th and ending April 23 rd. Please register with Sandra Hould at or Jhould@ccil.org. SAVE THE DATE The Sodality will be hosting Mary s Tea on Sunday, April 28 th at noon in the parish hall. It is a day for all women to honor our Blessed Mother. Tea sandwiches, salad, desserts and of course, tea will be served amid prayer and music. We are encouraging participants to wear spring or summer hats as well as bringing your own tea cup. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for girls under the age of twelve. Forms can be found on the entrance tables at church beginning next Sunday, March 17 th. Please bring the form with you when purchasing tickets. Tickets will be sold on Sunday, March 17 th in the church hall.
