3 PARISH NEWS MONDAY ROSARY The next Monday Rosary will be held tomorrow Monday, December 10 th at 6:00 p.m. to pray the Joyful Mysteries. All are welcome to join in the prayer. The Rosary is also recited at 4:30 p.m. on all Saturday evenings before the Vigil Mass at 5:00 p.m. This is a wonderful way to obtain grace from Mary, Queen of the Rosary, for whom our church is named. CHRISTMAS Be part of the joyful expression of love for the new born Jesus. All are invited to help bring out the joy of OLR s Christmas celebration. Church decorating takes place on Friday, December 21 st at 6:00 p.m. Your graceful touch will be appreciated. Everyone is welcome! VERY GRATEFUL A very special thank you to everyone who contributed to the Lights of Love Memorial Campaign sponsored by the Sodality. AN INVITATION Next Sunday, December 16 th, we celebrate Gaudete Sunday, the third Sunday of Advent. You are invited to bring to Mass your Baby Jesus figurine from you home Nativity Scene. A special blessing will be offered for these images of the Christ Child after all the Masses. Christmas Wafers will also be available at the entrance tables in church. We will continue with our Parish Family Christmas Tree! A Christmas tree will be present in the new entrance way to church. If you wish to place an ornament from your family for the Christmas season, you are encouraged to do so. You may wish to make an ornament, have your family represented on the ornament or use an ornament that has special meaning to your family. We hope that all parish families take part in making this Parish Family Christmas Tree a true representation of our entire parish family so it may serve as a worthy tribute to celebrate the Birthday of Our Lord Jesus. After the Christmas Season, we ask that you then remove your ornament and keep it safe for next year s tree. 4 EUCHARISTIC ADORATION Everyone is invited to join in the all-day Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament which is offered on the last Monday of each month. Our next Eucharistic Adoration will be held on Monday, December 31 st. The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed from noon till 5:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at 6:00 p.m. Come and spend some time before our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament! PRE-JORDAN Parents and godparents presenting a child for Baptism need to attend a preparation class in order to be properly informed about the meaning of the Sacrament of Baptism. The next class will be held on Monday, January 7 th at 6:00 p.m. in the last classroom in the parish hall. Registration is a must. ANGEL TREE The Teen Life and the Jr. CYO have put up the Angel Tree in church. On this tree will be tags for various items that are needed for the less fortunate. Please take a tag, buy the gift and return the gift in a gift bag. Don t forget to attach the tag. All items should be new. Deadline to return the gifts is today, Sunday, December 9 th. 5 Children s Christmas Party All the children of the parish (12 years of age and younger) are invited to attend our annual Children s Christmas Party. There will be crafts, games, food, and of course Santa who will have a gift for each child. This party is sponsored by our Teen Life and Jr. CYO team.
